@kornclown7 can I ask you what performance that unisoc has? Do you think it pairs with an i5, an i3 or worse?

RE: UT on pinephone vs halium based UT
@applee yes, but that raises another question.
If lomiri is ported to Ubuntu desktop edition, compiled for arm, we could have a standard Ubuntu on the pinephone that looks identical to UT ?
And click applications could be packaged for Ubuntu arm like we can already do when testing them using 'clickable desktop' ?Or I still miss something?
I know that camera drivers suck on Ubuntu compared to android drivers. -
UT on pinephone vs halium based UT
I read that what distinguishes the pinephone from other android based phones, is that it can run a standard Linux kernel instead of the usual abstraction layer sitting on top of the android kernel and blobs.
Is that true for UT?
Is it like a standard Intel PC but with an arm cpu which can possibly be upgraded with a simple dist-upgrade? -
RE: will ubuntu touch ever be upgraded past ubuntu 16.10
@lakotaubp I'd go for 22.04 now...

Can't record videos
Pictures are ok but when I try to record a video, the app freezes

RE: How to make a "simple webapp" via clickable in 2021?
I was thinking of automating the creation of clickable WebApps from scratch online games and apps through https://sheeptester.github.io/htmlifier/

@suoko Hope it worked for you as well. If yes, I guess we could mark this thread as "Solved"
Gotta get used to forum rules again after the "telegram groups storm" of latest years

@kugiigi said in Disable anbox and hide its apps:
@suoko Do you want to uninstall/remove anbox or just hide the apps?
There are desktop files namedanbox*
at~/.local/share/applications
which you can delete or move to other directory.Great! This should be integrated in anbox-tool options, smt like --hide-apps

RE: morph browser: not possible to show map due to missing WebGL

Disable anbox and hide its apps
I can disable anbox and make android apps fail to start, but i'd also like to hide android apps.
How ?
I tried renaming the anbox data folder in home but no effect -
Enabilng webgl
I enabled webgl followingthe commands found in telegram:
These are the Terminal commands I used: sudo ubports-qa install xenial_-_gpu-browser sudo -i mount -o remount,rw / cd /etc/profile.d/ cp disable-qtwebengine-gpu.sh disable-qtwebengine-gpu.old rm disable-qtwebengine-gpu.sh
and it works ok but i'm left with this apt status:

RE: morph browser: not possible to show map due to missing WebGL
@povoq what are requirements to have webgl working in morph?
Which phones will get it? -
RE: Wish list : which apps do you need?
Webgl, definetely.
It would open the door to all scratch (and any other html5) apps and games -
RE: Can't install any apps
@keneda Thanks for the clarification.
BTW I just had to update the openstore -
Can't install any apps
I installed latest ubport today with the installer and it worked ok, but I can't install any apps.
The progress bar keeps running.
I remember some time ago I tried ubports on this phone and had to run:cat /var/lib/lxc/android/rootfs/ueventd*.rc|grep ^/dev|sed -e 's/^\/dev\///'|awk '{printf "ACTION==\"add\", KERNEL==\"%s\", OWNER=\"%s\", GROUP=\"%s\", MODE=\"%s\"\n",$1,$3,$4,$2}' | sed -e 's/\r//' >/usr/lib/lxc-android-config/70-santoni.rules
Is this still necessary to have a running store ?

RE: Ubuntu Touch Q&A 74 This Saturday at 19:00 UTC
I got a few questions though I'm not sure I'll be able to join the call.
- when a device gets official support from ubports installer, will it receive 'official' ota updates?
- most ported devices requires a manual update atm, I experienced it during this month. Is it possible to make it clearer the way to create flashable zips and possibily let install them via ut itself by instructing twrp ?
- have you ever thought of supporting an android series of phones? Let's say galaxy A series, redmi A series, realme branded phones, or whatever? Let's say you focus on redmi A series (4a, 5a, 6a, etc), you have very low cost new devices to 'offer' (below 100$ target price, perfect for developing and exploring) which would still have android dual boot.
