As an FYI, I had major problems to get my account verified with my normal @hotmail.com. Tried multiple times and ofc checked spam but never received anything.
Finally I tried an @Gmail.com mail which worked.

With that much overcharge one would hope they donate some to the development for UBorts.

I wish there was an strict firewall native in Ubuntu Touch so that we would see and control what is allowed to talk. A local Keepass should not talk to the internet.
If the app is confined (as this one is) you don't need to blindly trust that the package in the open store was compiled by the code that is linked, to be sure it doesn't phone home. If you know what to look for, you can download the .click package and examine the contents. The most important is the .apparmor file, which describes what permissions the packages requests from the system.
Admittingly, I am lacking full understanding of how this .click system works nor having deep understanding of how App Armor so I am at an disadvantage.
But thanks for the note, I will need to re up on both .click packages!

Where did you get the idea that it does?
My mistake, I should have been more clear that it was an example case that a password app should never need to talk with the internet, which believe it or not, is common with apps on Google Play store.

I have two monitors at work and I recently learnt about daisy chaining with DP connections so I though to try with UT and my phone.
It almost works! With no effort at all, I got my screen to be mirrored on both monitors but I could not find a setting to allow for side-by-side displays.
Is there any support for this?UT 24.04 on FP5
Side-topic
Could you take a picture of how it looks on the monitors?
I got a Volla Quintus which only have USB 2.0 and thus cannot run monitors, tad bit bummed but not sure if I am missing allot.

smartphone has become an extension of you as a person
This sure sounds like a frightening statement. I'm glad I don't feel that way.
You do not know the half of it.
In Sweden we are a very digital society and this we have BankID, which is an private organisation. The idea is that Banks validate your ID which then allows BankID to issue a certificate to a device (application) and allows you to Authenticate yourself digitally on the majority of the Swedish services.
Like ;- banking/insurance/loans
- shopping
- Car ownership
- sites for private trading of physical goods
- groceries
- parking
and much more.
While there competitors like FrejaEID its not much against the dominant BankID. BankID Mobile (the most common form) is only available for Apple IOS and for Google Android officially. There used to be a Linux client but it get discontinued and there is a windows client available is for enterprise purposes and requires a physical card.
Being somewhat young in Sweden today you REQUIRE your phone this sole purpose, to house an App for Authentication.

RE: Potentially turning a negative of Google's tightening restrictions into a positave
While I agree to 100% I believe there will be several major obstacles that needs to be faced by the FOSS community.
Unlike computers and many other appliances where FOSS has started to take market, smartphone has become an extension of you as a person. As in;

We are heavily dependant to major organisations to develop apps for Banking, Digital ID or even other services. Many of these organisation has incentive to keep going Google/Apple route for reasons. Worst would be if they start limiting where you can connect from.
-
Hardware which supports opensource alternative is starting to expand but is still in its infancy which makes it more sensitive for regulations and is tougher to get that competitive.

Seeing as US, UK, AU and even EU is starting to foster acts, regulations and laws to control both HW and software freedom. Referring to EUs laws of standard charge cable or EU's laws regarding to chat control.
Chat Control and Digital ID is one of the reasons why I am about moving to Ubuntu Tough, and for this reason I will continue to cheer, support and bet on these intiatives!
TL;DR
While the escalation of government control of our communications is increasing we are at a very sensitive stage still. -

RE: Crazy stuff: sudo snap install signal-desktop
Nice find!
Unfortunately its the desktop app which cannot be a "main" app, as in you always need to keep a separate phone.
@pparent said in Crazy stuff: sudo snap install signal-desktop:
I've actually succeeded to start the app with acceptable scaling by creating a dummy unconfined app with simply a .desktop file with the launcher:
Exec=env GDK_SCALE=2 /snap/bin/signal-desktop --no-sandbox %U
That might be worth a guide/instruction with steps on how to do.
