@totalsonic Unfortunately the guide to install Anbox is not online any more. On https://docs.ubports.com/en/latest/userguide/dailyuse/anbox.html it is said, that you have to install the Anbox kernel after each Ubuntu Touch update. Otherwise one can put the UT device on an unstable state.

Can someone tell me how to install or update Anbox. I have installed it some times ago, but after some UT updates WhatsApp indeed crashes often 😞

Just a thought but this is an old thread and most of the info out of date, might be easier for everyone to start a new one.

Since UT is only just now moving to 5.12, I guess we will have plenty of time to see once the dust has settled on this.

Either upstream will work with "unstable" qt6 or maybe there will be a fork, who knows.

@TotalSonic Unfortunately so far there are only additional issues with this:

However, maybe with the new Mir we could have some of these apps compiled against Wayland and packaged as click packages. Unfortunately though so far I was unable to run such Wayland apps at all on edge. There is probably something I am missing required but until more people are using it I am hesitant to ask how to proceed with it.

Although I can't provide any sort of solution I have the same two issues on my recently acquired Nexus 7 deb. In addition rotation doesn't work (although I know this is an issue on Android too); also it reboots itself whenever I turn it off. It's not immediate but takes up to about 20 minutes.

That said, it's a great little tablet with UT on it.
