hello,
I know that the Sony Xperia X is not maintained today.
But, since we can use it with the UT 24.04, do you think there is any chance to make the FM radio works now ? Does it change somthing ?

Hello,
view weeks ago I started to switch from Android (Calyx OS) to Ubuntu Touch.
I use my smartphone also as a freelancer and need to relay on it.
I tried few Navigation Apps and Organic Maps works at its best for me. It is, in a good way, simple, to use.I wrote to them, if they like to adapted it to UT.
I have no idea in programming, but I wanted to share the answer:
"Hi O.....
We would love to support the development of OM for UT more actively, but our resources are very limited. With enough donations or active contributors/developers the situation may change.
There's already the cross-platform C++ core, only the good UI should be developed on top of it (although it's a lot of work…)
What are your thoughts/ideas on that?
With best regards,
Alexander Borsuk

Hi,
When I use my camera, the real-time image that I see is of good quality, but when I make the pictures, independently of the selected setting (Basic, Normal, High, or Fine) I get a very poor image.
Here is a screenshot of my screen when taking the picture:

And here is the picture saved (Note, I reduced a bit the image because this forum does not accept 12MP > 2MB images, but the quality is really bad as you can see here:

As you can see, all the details of the rubber are gone, it seems pretty much like an AI generated image with very low quality and detail.
@Escain said in Any solution to get decent photos?: my picture with 12.6MP is usually between 2 and 3MB, but that could depends on the details on the image. I tried with a zoom and the image is indeed smaller at 2.8 Mb - as could be expected with a zoom done in software, there is less detail. I played a bit with the zoom (never used it before, for doing near distance photos I find much easier to actually get the phone nearer to the object) and it can indeed throw the focus off, but doing the video/still image switch fixed it. @Escain said in Any solution to get decent photos?: several hypothesis compression: my guess is not, 4.5 Mb for a jpeg image is not very aggressively compressed if at all. beautifying filter: there is nothing of the sort in the app code, as it is using QT controls it could be integrated in these controls, don't know. problems with zoom: this could be the more likely idea. Maybe you could give a try to the photo app in Waydroid. When faced with the focus problems, before finding the switch to video trick, I found that it focused properly immediately for near distance photos. -
Hello,
I'm running Ubuntu Touch 24.04-1.1 on Fairephone 4.
I've tried to install the upgrade proposed via the system upgrade manager but it seems to failed and I has the fastboot screen prompted and choose the first line to reboot the system.
But I'm now stuck into the Fairphone Logo when I wan't to reboot.
I've tried using the installer from my PC, but I can't access the fastboot mode (neither with the volum up+power or the volum down+power combinaison)
So I'm a bit desperate as it's my only smartphone, that I use everyday, inclunding for work...
Any ideas ?
Thank you!

I would like to connect my Ubuntu phone and Ubuntu laptop, to make calls using my computer headset.
There are programs like HFP for Linux (https://nohands.sourceforge.net/) that might give me this hands free experience, but that is an unmaintained program with a lot of dependency issues when trying to install on 24.04, and not designed for Ubtouch as such. It would be really nice to make calls, write SMS, access address book etc from my laptop when my phone is connected. I'm also using GSConnect, but that has a limited feature set. It's not so important whether the connection is through USB or Bluetooth, as long as the functionality can be achieved.
Are there other options?
