Good News! Installer is finished! The pull request being prepared, so I close this thread here, and, as menstioned in the previous post, please move your discussions to the subforum. Note that you might need to update your installer, older versions might haave issues with flashing the phone with the Heimdall tool. BR Florian
  • How to install to A/B slot devices?

The basic idea after I tried on the Pixel 2XL: you unlock device as usual (enable developer mode, authorize your PC for USB debugging, boot into bootloader do fastboot flashing unlock) Then, do not try to install TWRP permanently. You will have to boot it everytime with fastboot boot twrp-xy.img You can select the slot to flash to also with the fastboot command. What I did was: Boot TWRP in slot a Install LineageOS 16.0 (to get the vendor partition), TWRP will install it to slot b! Flash halium-boot.img to slot b Install rest of system with halium-install. You also need to specify flag -s to install it with "system-as-root" mode System is booting now, but recovery cannot be installed ATM with Halium. We are doing work now to integrate our recovery properly, at least then you will be able to use it.

Any way for an XZ1 (poplar) owner to help with this? Or are the two device versions too different?

@libremax There are different instructions for Xiaomi redmi (note) 7 on youtube. Unfortunately, these devices are rare to find. A redmi 8 or 9 version would be fine  .

@dytract well give it a try, but modding the image is already halfway to do a real port you will need the Android build tree and such, so if there is a Lineage 14.1 or 16.0 for your device, I would still suggest you start a port.

@AdhithAdhi I understand. In order to port Ubuntu Touch to your device, we need the android AOSP kernel with all specific modifications to talk to the various hardware components. I don't know if there is a way to get those sources from elsewhere, but Cyanogen or Lineage guys achieve to get it, so there is a way... Anyhow good luck. And maybe someone here can see your post and know a better answer.
