Hello! I'm a sysadmin at Luleå Academic Computer Society, LUDD, and we host mirrors at https://ftp.ludd.ltu.se/. We've already got a registered Ubuntu mirror, and as such I'm wondering if its possible to contribute a Ubuntu Touch image/package(click?) mirror or similar? Is there any contact point I can reach out to?

@Sentinel said in No GPS access from inside Waydroid: maybe the MIUI version I flashed might have impacted Waydroid's reliability or other things? Yes — this can significantly affect UT. The MIUI image version to use is specified in the installation guide under "2. Check the correct version of MIUI", and it looks like you used the correct one. I can't explain the unusual bugs you've reported. Did you remount the system as read-write and make any changes? Did you use apt (update/upgrade/install)? I'm fine with starting a new discussion thread.

@GT : I don't know the reason for it. Perhaps the Axolotl dev group can help you. You need to install TELEports app (UT's Telegram client) and after that can join via this link: https://t.me/axolotl_dev

@wgarcia There's a beta build of the tweak tool in Gitlab. If you can't find that, install the xenial version. App management still works there.

@Nemo I had random reboots on OTA-1 too. But it took a while for me to notice it was happening.

Actually while far from ideal, I think you don't get the notification bubble if you turn on Silent Mode. But yeah, that should be a setting.

@linuxfanche said in Root information ask: after installing ubuntu touch do i have to unroot my smartphone or leave it like that? Just to avoid all possible confusion: you do not need to root your phone in order to install Ubuntu Touch. You just need to unlock the bootloader, and like @Keneda said: leave it unlocked.

@Chan1234 It is possible to use mainline programms on UT, but it is not recommanded, and not supported by ubports meaning it's up to you to keep your tweaked UT usable and updated, without breaking anything. So yes, if you don't want to spend a lot of time to maintain your system alive, don't do this ^^

Hi @sony, @sony said in Xperia X can not open bootloader: @MrT10001 Yes, we unlocked bootloader and we have status ,,unlocked'' It is not apparent to us where you read the status "unlocked" from, because further down in the post you write you don't know if you are in fastboot mode. What does your device show, check the status via the bootloader, similar to the picture [image: 1690577250538-dc390d95-668d-492e-a18b-1d422a58ce1c-grafik.png] The error message, of the Ubports installer, is strange if the bootloader jam would be "unlocked". And please give us more info about what you have already done, and in what order. Or are you just waiting for us? Greetings Mario

Thanks @kugiigi and @arubislander , caveat noted. As an update for anyone trying to do similar it seems GPS is not working with the App in Focal (so my search for a Focal-based app to record GPS (.gpx) track continues. (See also my other post on "Libertine fails to install a package because of permissions related to the creation of a directory /run/gpsd. How do you fix permission errors related to gpsd?" - https://forums.ubports.com/topic/9175/libertine-app-install-run-and-remove) Here is what happens with Activity Tracker (a Xenial based app running in Focal): • map show API Key Required • clicking on saved activity shows spinning wheel • importing .gpx file shows correctly but clicking on saved activity shows spinning wheel • Recording activities (screen on or off, app on top or background) shows no data for speed and altitude also distance 0. • Map shows whatever you set it to (starts at Trafalgar Sq in London. • Time advances but seems to stop advancing when screen is off (locked). • Ditto for “i” Track Info when looking at gpx track– spinning wheel. After stopping record: cd ~/.local/share/activitytracker.cwayne18/ phablet@ubuntu-phablet:~/.local/share/activitytracker.cwayne18$ ls -la total 40 drwxrwxr-x 2 phablet phablet 4096 Jul 27 19:31 . drwx------ 37 phablet phablet 4096 Jul 27 17:50 .. -rw-rw-r-- 1 phablet phablet 341 Jul 27 19:10 1690499407.gpx -rw-rw-r-- 1 phablet phablet 341 Jul 27 19:31 1690500673.gpx -rw-r--r-- 1 phablet phablet 16384 Jul 27 19:31 activities.db -rw-rw-r-- 1 phablet phablet 8 Jul 27 17:50 .dbfixed -rw-rw-r-- 1 phablet phablet 8 Jul 27 17:50 .dbfixed2 1690499407.gpx <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <gpx xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xmlns="http://www.topografix.com/GPX/1/0" xsi:schemaLocation="http://www.topografix.com/GPX/1/0 http://www.topografix.com/GPX/1/0/gpx.xsd" version="1.0" creator="gpx.py -- https://github.com/tkrajina/gpxpy"> <trk> <trkseg></trkseg></trk></gpx> 1690499407.gpx (END)

@timofeyshhh Use the MiFlash tool to reinstall stock ROM and DO NOT lock the bootloader. There is a high chance of bricking the device if you so so. My Redmi Note 7 is my main UT device and it works really well on it.

@deviance The black screen means you are at the bootloader aka in fastboot mode. Used ADB reboot bootloader and then use fastboot devices and it should show it connected. Use Google Chrome Android recovery to install stock ROM, it is the quickest and easiest way.
