@RJDan If you reported it in a forum post or a gitlab issue then you should updated there and also mention the steps you did that could have fixed it.

Hi @saveurlinux, The Ladybird browser does not appear to be fully developed yet. [image: 1752695570948-ladybird.png] The Morph browser, on the other hand, is complete, but we do not yet have enough programmers to integrate the necessary operating components. Therefore, I believe there is a lack of available expertise, i.e., a sufficient number of workers. Greetings Mario

@Smirftsch Yeah, the idea of Dekko or another email client as a core app makes sense to me. Longer term, I thought at one point I heard talk about trying to fork Thunderbird, possibly via Snaps, which will be enabled by default in 24.04. But I'm sure that'll require some work to function well in UT. Meanwhile, I hope some other input about email usage, and Dekko specifically, can help make UT more useable for you.

@johndoe we are working on a plugin to lomiri system settings like Libertine plugin. I already have most things implemented in backend, mostly lack some generation control over nix/home-manager left other then that mainly implementing the main UI, I have a design ready just need to implement it.

@DenMoore Oh thank you! Nice start indeed! I think WayDroid needs some patches to run properly, this is a "porting" stuff. I'm sure it will come further.

@kristatos I concur! There are guidelines outlined by the gsma for an RCS client and from what I read from this reditor there are even Servers outlined in the GSMA docs for sending RCS messages for some carriers. It seems that SixDigitCode has made some great points for how a RCS client could be built. From what I see they have a handle on this spec, and it might be worth seeing if they are still around on the internet? I will post again with the updated documents from the GSMA and work on trying to break them down Helpful Reddit posts Post 1 Post 2

@developerbayman x86_64? I don't think that'll happen. You probably already know that Ubuntu and other GNU/Linux distributions are almost always x86(_64) (meaning they're operating systems for computers). But... Ubuntu Touch is specifically customized to run GNU/Linux on phones, instead of smartphones running default operating systems like iOS, Android, or HarmonyOS (yeah, I'm adding that here because it's a real OS). If Ubuntu Touch had an x86_64 version, I'd find that very strange... Ubuntu Touch's interface is Lomiri, so there's already an x86_64 Ubuntu "distro" using that.

You can install Termux on any Android Tablet and run a full blown Linux desktop there. It's relatively easy to setup and works very well. That's at least my replacement until something comparable is reached in Linux OS world. The Volla tablet should get support on UT soon, at least I hope so and look forward to it.

Updated: Now this script is almost unnecessary on Ubuntu/Debian or some Ubuntu/Debian based distros, it can still run the old script fine. But I still do this project so that other Linux distro users can still build without any problems.

To be fair, this is a very valid use case. I've wanted this right from the start since if you use external keyboard and mouse, you won't need the virtual one so the screen will be useless. In Samsung DeX, you can do this although I noticed that some apps wakes it up when doing certain things. In any case, there's no way to do this right now. It might need changes to the lower level components such as Mir. Also note that unlike Samsung DeX, UT is using the same UI or DE when connected to an external display so anything you do on the device would affect both displays.
