Yes, well summarized @MrT10001. Though I'll note that not all of North America has lost 3G support. Here in Canada (at least while we remain a sovereign nation) 3G is alive on all carriers for now. Sunset dates range between July 2025 and Dec 2026. My impression is that a bunch of nations in the south of NA still have 2G and/or 3G as well. If it were me though, I'd either go with one of the pricier but clearly supported devices you listed, or try to hold out a bit longer before buying something, to make sure it works well in 24.04 (and that VoLTE starts working, if you'll need it soon). My guess is that the coming weeks/months might make it all a bit more clear which devices will have a good future with Noble and VoLTE.

@stanwood I think it's better to keep two subjects one for UT and an other ("off topic") for FuriOS. Otherwise, it would be confusing. Given multiboot is possible with FLX1, discussion about FuriOS may very well interest some people in this forum in the future.

@peat_psuwit said in On the subject of Ubuntu Touch versioning scheme: We've considered 24.04 OTA-x.y. Unfortunately, (re-)using the word OTA could set the wrong expectation; by using the word OTA, many users will expect incremental, frequent updates (AKA rolling release). Don't worry, users will expect unicorn rainbow farts anyway and while updates are a bit slow, technically UT is a rolling release I'm really sorry that you have this sentiment. I also don't want to change the versioning scheme, but both the technical and practical reasons forced us to re-think how we will version Ubuntu Touch. Don't be, it was mostly a joke, and, while I may not fully agree with the reasoning, it is overall a pretty minor change. I've been on the other side of this experience plenty of times. As a user I get upset about minor changes because they make up a much "larger" part of the user experience vs the experience as a developer where this is an "insignificant" side quest compared to all the development work actually being done Also compare this change to the hot mess that is the current naming schemes from both intel and AMD

It works. You need to have the OTG USB stick formatted to FAT32 and access it through the file manager on UT, then tap the three bars on the top left and scroll down and it should appear at the bottom.

Hello. After sorting out some billing issue with Cloudflare and re-adding our domain to Read the Docs, https://docs.ubports.com/ is now online again. We apologize for any inconvenience caused by this.

Good idea, I've noticed it too, not sure how easy it would be to fix but it would definitely make sense!

@danfro said in Add a launcher to the app drawer to run a command: I actually had to add the line with "Type=Application" before the script launcher would show up in the launcher.. I'll move it to the top part then, thanks for the feedback!
