@knerd What channel are you on, (development, stable, etc), you could try changing to see if something broke on a recent update. If I have the time I will dust my PP off this weekend chuck a simcard in it and have a play.

Problem is drivers. The PinePhone itself is based on quite old hardware, and lacking of drivers. And nobody wants to write drivers for old hardware. The issue was resolved with former Android based phones by using the already available drivers. PinePhone Pro is using much newer hardware so there may be hope for it.

@doctrucker Do not hesitate to clean once or twice a year every contact in the phone with alcohol or cleaning fluid F2. That kind of issue is current on pressure contacts, it's for instance one of the first cause of hardware failure in Fairphones.

@keneda I am not saying otherwise. But development is going to require A LOT of resources for rapid development. I have a Pinephone too, in a cupboard...

@doctrucker Don't know but there must be a form or and email for this. But beware that, if you didn't see it when bying PP, that it has only a 30 days warranty, so you'll probably have to argue whis them. Edit : it seems that warranty can last longer if law of living country says that warranty must last more, and if not respected, that's not legal. Read carefully : https://pine64.com/warranty-policy/

OK so from the above, the detailed answers is: No optimistic delivery date exists. Simply check back every few months if there's a new stable release by running UBPorts from a spare SD card. There's no known date of when Ubports on PinePhone will be able to work as a daily driver, so for now either: go for another phone if you still really want to use UBPorts go for another distribution if you really want to use Pinephone Thank you all for the answers. Case closed.

@lakotaubp It is possible, just make sure you choose the option Authenticator App.

And also, if apps need to be able to run in the background, then UbuntuTweakTool (which is in the Open Store) can make that possible.

Hi @millerky89, it's a known bug. https://gitlab.com/ubports/community-ports/pinephone/-/issues/162 Anyway you can try the devel channel, there are a lot of changes, and maybe that is also fixed there.

@planejoe great stuff I cannot comment much about the partition layout, some looks legacy in link with the android container i'd guess... though not required on PinePhone. If you check the multi image, Ubuntu Touch run from a single btrfs partition if i'm not wrong: https://xnux.eu/p-boot-demo/
