Have you any ideas for me ?
If I recall correctly you need to install the Canonical image from bq website before you can upgrade to UBports version of Ubuntu Touch.
@shargar MDT is deprecated, you need to use the ubports-installer but please answer these questions before: what OS is in your table now? what OS is running in your computer?
Also you can take a look to the install instructions in French https://docs.ubports.com/fr/latest/userguide/install.html
i don't find it on the bq's website. THere is just android versions : https://www.bq.com/pt/support/aquaris-m10/support-sheet?ssess=5b22d9f2ef452&sorigin=productList
@advocatux Thanks for your help. Ubuntu 16.04 LTS on my pc and android 6.0 on the tablett. I'm reading french instructions...
@shargar perfect, as you can see in that instructions you need to install the "old" Ubuntu Touch before installing UBports.
Be very careful using SP Flash Tool.
@advocatux Ok. I try to be careful. I'm downloading sp Flash tool for linux and the image and i will try tomorow. Thank you for your help. See you
@shargar right, and if you need something we're here to help
Edit: have you seen the PM I sent you?
@advocatux This link is dead https://spflashtool.com/download/SP_Flash_Flash_Tool_v5.1744_Linux.zip>`_.
and this version doesn't sart https://spflashtool.com/download/SP_Flash_Tool_exe_Linux_64Bit_v5.1520.00.100.zip
I don't see other versions for linux ....
@shargar these links are working for me now
Edit: this is what you have to download, be careful because there are other links for downloading but only if you're using Ubuntu 17.10 !!
ok , i folowed english instruction to be sure... ( https://docs.ubports.com/en/latest/userguide/install.html )
I press download in splash, i connect my device ( turn off) and i 've this message :
BROM ERROR : S_COM_PORT_OPEN_FAIL (1013)
[COM] Failed to open COM port.
I try with my different usb port without sucess...
The splash version is SP_Flash_Tool_exe_Linux_v5.1612.00.100
scatter loading file is MT 8163_Android_scatter.txt
@shargar do you have your tablet in developer mode and usb debugging allowed?
Have you tried a different usb cable?
Edit: check you have OEM unlocking on too
Edit 2: Oh, I'm remembering now. Do you have
modemmanagerinstalled on your Ubuntu? IIRC you need to remove it because is incompatible with SP Flash Tool
Edit 3: Hmm here (https://www.dedoimedo.com/computers/aquaris-m10-with-android.html) it says you can avoid that error running the tool with
The BroM error is usually, a usb driver problem.
i have the fhd model,
in terminal i run
/ sudo fastboot devices/
/ ubports-installer /
and run the installer.
i looked on "BQ support and could not find ubuntu for hd model, here is the link for FHD model ,it may help you search.
@advocatux. Yes, my tablet is in developer mode, usb debuging, and OEM unlocking.
My cable is ok, i see it with "sudo adb device".
To run the tool, I double click on it. I don't understand how to run it with sudo ? "sudo flash_tool" in a terminal ?
@shargar The link below is nothing to do with Ubports but will as @advocatux has said show you how to remove the modemanager quicker and better than I can type the instructions
Its near the top from point 3 down. If you have modemanager it will not work as far as I know.
Hope this helps all the best.
Hi ! It's ok for me. I did it. I try to explain with my magic english. So, in my case, the problem was I started the flash_tool without sudo. I went to the tool's files and I wrote sudo ./flash_tool and let's go
Before I tried with modemmanager remove without sucess...
For french peoples : Attention l'outils flash_tool doit être lancé avec la commande sudo ./flash_tool dans un terminal. Avant, bien se place rdans le bon dossier avec la commande cd
Thanks to Advocatux, Lakotaubp and Marathon for your help.
@advocatux I have absolutely no idea what you may or may not be referring to at all : ) !! Whatsoever
