Wish list : which apps do you need?
-
@WarpLover a sms can ( according to the rules) take up to 3 days to get to the recipient. An email can take 15 minutes max (according to the rules).

One app that I use every day is an app that blocks access to other apps. In the google play store it is simply called Block Apps. Basically, it allows the user to set schedules of apps that are blocked from being used until that schedule ends. I think Block Apps makes it very difficult to gain access to these apps once they are blocked (i.e. can't gain access from power down or restart).
Naively, I think this would be straightforward. Almost like a cron job interface for UT. But I have no experience developing mobile apps. If people would find this type of app useful, I'd be willing to start learning how to develop it.

Hello, good people.
Basically, I think I have only a couple of desires when it comes to apps.
FB Messenger (my friends are using it extensively), Viber (the same story. It's quite difficult to make them switch to Telegram or Viber), Firefox (or at least the ability to import our bookmarks manually in Morph), and an app to connect to Amazfit watches (a port of Gadgetbridge or Amazfish from SFOS would suffice).
That's pretty much it for me.Cheers

Firefox is the only thing I'm missing before I can fully switch over to UT.

@matty00
You can install it in Libertine. -
Covid-19 prevent us from meeting face to face. So I need Zoom -please...
-
@TomRausner
Video chat is not possible at the moment.
See my comment here: https://forums.ubports.com/topic/4754/wish-list-which-apps-do-you-need/112
And Zoom is not really open source, so we cannot tinker to try and make it work. -
KeePassXC and Nextcloud would make me a happy user. Having to hack around and try to use alternatives and workarounds over a native app is annoying and not the same. Maybe I should add specifically real mobile versions as well. I can get them both on Manjaro Arm but they're the desktop versions and lets just say touch support ain't the best.
-
Also, it would be amazing if someone could port KDE connect (or GSConnect).

There is a Kirigami version for Plasma Mobile. Needs a newer qt version though.
-
Zoho mail and writer would be awesome. They have linux builds and are designed as responsive web apps. Their websites by conrtast make awful web apps
-
@marlboro50 yup. agree!
-
-
speach to text app. Or alternatively would be awesome to have a extra button to hold down on keyboard for speach to text while typing.
-
chess.com app (there is a webapp for it, but doesnt seem to work for most ppl)
-
screen recording app. I'd love to record my screen while playing chess e.q. or just to make videos to show to my friends how UT looks like and all the things it can do. And maybe post some UT related videos in youtube/lbry.
I think thats all I need, the rest of apps that I'm missing are under developement or at beta state, so I belive those will be around soon enough.

I would appreciate to have Dekko fully functional or to have an official mail client.

Not just you, everyone.. ... but we can hope that (The new) anbox on some smartphones will maybe provide a workaround by allowing mail clients to be installed. But this solution will only be fully useful if there is a gateway to receive email notifications directly on the smartphone, which I don't know @Xray2000
-
@domubpkm Normoly this should be no problem.
-
I would be happy about an app/ script being able to transfer (via USB) my phone's GPS-data/ stream to my laptop. So I could use my NAVIT-installation on the laptop (big map!) with my phone's GPS-stream...
Still dreaming... -
I'd like to have
a music app with equalizer
a fm radio app
a covid pass app -
@odo said in Wish list : which apps do you need?:
a fm radio app
I guess this is probably unlikely, due to how manufacturers implement FM support (or more often, do not). See https://lists.launchpad.net/ubuntu-phone/msg17256.html for example.

I think import/export data app would be very usefull.
