I wonder if could be related to a faulty charging port or cable? I was having connectivity issues with my OP5t, and it seemed like sometimes it was sometimes charging at a lower rate, despite using the Dash charger adapter or whatever. But then it became hard to charge at all, and eventually I had to replace the port (which thankfully wasn't too hard). Anyway, just a thought. Maybe try another cable for starters?

@James-T What you surmised is quite correct. To shutdown the OP6 and 6T you have to either leave it a while, or use the key combo to het to fastboot mode and power off from there.

Hello, It's not possible to revert OTA update on the same channel. So if you updated to OTA5 on RC channel, you can go back to OTA4 on stable. But once released on stable there is no coming back except if you saved the system.img files so you can manually go back. That's why it's important to have as many testers as possible for a release candidate versions. So the release could be stopped in case of a blocking point. But in this case, an issue with a specific application on Waydroid will not qualify as a blocking point, but at least people would know before the stable release.

@arubislander Reinstalled Waydroid + Fortitoken, and got new key from our IT folks and now it connects again. Not clear though whether a glitch with the server (resulting in an unacceptable level of failed logins) or an OTA-5/Waydroid problem was the root cause.

Glad to hear it, @James-T! Wish I'd thought to mention how replaceable the battery also is, before you brought it in. I replaced mine recently and the new one is giving me more than double the lifespan. The part cost $11.75CAD. Less than €8.00

Got it back to 20.04. Pretty simple if you do a lot of ROM installations: Download TWRP for for 5T (Dumpling) here. Attach the device to your PC in fastboot mode (bootloader) and install TWRP from the command line in the PC - ./fastboot flash recovery <location of your TWRP file> Boot into recovery, ensure the data partition is EXT4 and wipe cache and system. Reboot the phone to recovery. Download the stock ROM (OnePlus5TOxygen_43_OTA_004_all_1711152324_9a7ca8ad1c7d.zip) from here. Copy it to the device NOT in a folder so it is in the root of the device. In TWRP choose install and install the ROM zip file - leave it alone and let it do its thing. Once installed reboot the phone and again leave it alone, let it do its thing. Run through Android set up and then enable developer options and USB debugging. Run your UT installer and follow the instructions.

Probably when we have a really stable and efficient focal OTA, we will see a little more clearly on smartphones. It's too early at this point. As it stands, I think you can only bet on the Volla (due to a partnership) and the Fairephone 4 (maybe a partnership but not sure).

Problem solved. It was nothing to do with the phone or the installer! It was an unstable USB connection!
