I noticed that the Ubports-installer has two options for Volla 22, one just "Volla 22" and one "Volla 22 with new screen". This makes me believe/hope that the firmware problem has been solved.
I've been using my Volla 22 as a daily driver for almost a year, and been fairly happy about it. Then came the upgrade to OTA-5. Now the phone claims to be connected to the mobile service provider while it simultanously claims not to recognize the sim card and refusing to make calls, send sms and mms.
I went from having a nice phone one day to not being able to use it the next. The only thing I did with the phone around the same time was to attempt to solve the notch issue, which has beend described elswhere on the forum. After doing that I reverted back using the same script...
I've looked and it seems that noone else has experienced this after OTA-5? I tried to ask around on the telegram channel for volla 22, but it is a quiet place.
So, I wonder if anyone would be so kind to aid me in debugging the problem? I would so much appreciate to be aided back to the safe spot of UT, rather than my current android emergency solution.
Bonus frustration: While I was working to reflash the phone (which did not help), it slid off the table and the screen broke. Anyone know where I can get hold of a new screen?
Where exactly can I get hold of a new screen for my Volla 22? Doesn't seem to be in the volla shop?

It is my impression that this is the case on my Volla 22 as well. Stable release.
My experience with the Volla 22 is that it struggles with too many webapps and browsing. Things slow down and it becomes less responsive. Helps to close apps. It works well as a daily driver, but I do experience this quite often. I wonder if it was a purchase for the future and if it is only downhill from here. Of course the design philosophy for webpages is much to blame. I miss html4 
There are no phone batteries that are able to provide enough power for such a solution...
I've used Volla22 with focal for a few months (5?) now. There are two issues that is bothering. First one is that the phone struggles to switch between wifi and mobile data. Coming home I expect it to switch automatically to my wifi network, but that can in reality take hours. Leaving home it often gets stuck on 2G and I have to turn on and off flight mode to get it into 3G.
The other thing is that it doesn't see bluetooth le devices, ex pinetime and Amazfit GTR2.
In the beginning I was thinking that these would probably be rectified over a few OTAs, but now I am not so sure anymore. I am wondering how to get news on the progress with this device and where to interact?

Or rather a way of channeling spotify to my livingroom hifi system. Also that focal doesn't have the tweak tool in order to keep apps awake, I miss.
But it is a patience game, isn't it? Not complaining, and really happy that I can live without android and ios.
@chris_bavaria I have the same problem. I think it might be bluetooth le which is not supported. I tried to bring it up in the volla telegram group, but noone responded...
@AmauryDBZ already missing the tweak tool. Any other way of turning off app suspension?
I just received my Volla Phone 22, it is super nice. But now I wonder if I should upgrade it to Focal. I'm looking forward to start using focal, but have held back on my Xiaomi Mi A2. Any experiences on Xenial vs. Focal from a non-developer perspective out there?
In the update settings there are two stable channels (driftsversjon). Is the "other" one Focal? Does that mean that my Xiaomi Mi A2 is ready for Focal, or should I wait for an "official" anouncement? This transition is both scary and exciting...!

@keneda never had HDR on so it isn't that. The only sollution I've found is to be patient and reboot the phone twice (since the first attempt basically only closes all open apps) 
@embeddedmz I have the same phone as you, and it was easy to install using waydroid helper which is in the open store. I wouldn't say that waydroid is completely streamlined and snappy, but my overall experience is positive. The freezinng camera is a greater nuisance...
@embeddedmz waydroid allows you to run android apps on a linux device such as a UT phone.
