To thanks OTA12, PinePhone and all this amazing community I want to offer a native qml client for spotify. A missing piece in my point of view for ubtouch. Lot of things need to be done before a 1.0 release (and to be add in open-store) but I need some feedback on what is already done.

So if you are adventurous, and have some time to accord to Futify please install it and give some love

Installation :

• Go to https://gitlab.com/frenchutouch/futify
• Search for the latest succefull pipeline, take your job arch and download click file in artifacts (arm64 will be my primary target as soon as my pinephone arrive)
• Direct link to last armhf
• Direct link to last arm64
• Install it with ut-tweak
• And launch it to enjoy

Please, open issues directly in repo (more easy to triage). If en issue or a feature is already added please add a on it like that I can more easily prioritize what should be done in first.

Please 2, open it with dark theme set with UT-Tweak (I love it like that... but some users prefer default theme and an issue already exist).

Interesting debate here. Let me put my through in this discussion. But before who am I.

Hello i'm Romain a french dev which love UT (daily drive it since 1 year now). I'm also the mattermost mvp for version 5.11. And the author of the official plugin gitlab.

So I guess i'm legitime to talk about this subject

I think the main point of telegram vs mattermost is about open-source. Télégram is not open-source, mattermost is. Just like github vs gitlab.

But no, ubports fundation are not hosting it's own gitlab @Fla. We use the global instance gitlab.com which is not linked with a mattermost instance. So the effort to host one is necessary.

As all decisions I take every day, this is a table whith pro/cons:

Pro	Cons
open-source	need to be hosted
open api	no native app (they have react-native mobile app but react-native don't support ubtouch, they have eletron desktop app but electron don't support ubtouch :crying_face:)
self discoverable (channels about dev, QA...)	no publicly accessible (need to register in ubports instance)
notification possible	need dev in MM (not in ubtouch and the man power for our OS is already light)
lot of plugins to bridge	need lot of configuration
no spam bot	not more debate to add a captcha

As you can see, As much I love mattermost, we can't do all this stuff in short/medium time. Maybe in long, very long time

As an advice, this is how I considered moving to mattermost (but unfortunately no time now...):

• buy a starter at 150$/year https://mattermost.com/pricing/
• create all channels in it (general, dev, qa, os...)
• bridge them to telegram (and why not matrix...) https://github.com/42wim/matterbridge
• invite people to come

If after 1 year no one use this instance don't renew it and you have "only" loose 150$.

If you do that, and users use it, I'll dev a native mattermost app for UT (or at least a way to have notification from it :smiling_face_with_halo: )

Yes user can grab song from spotify through futify... I have implemented a workaround and will put a version on open-store ASAP, but this year is so particular, you know... I mean, I make all I can today. And progress at my own rhythm.

And community have a version in gitlab ready to use (I use it everyday), yes there are some bugs but app works great.

Hi here! I have some good news.

After lot of tests, hacks, implementations, delete, retry... I have find a way to produce a working version which does not compromise spotify data.

In the way to find a good solution, I had rewrite (almost completely) the app

Try it:

If you stop read here, please keep in mind only one thing : You need make futify unsuspendable in UTTT

• armhf
• arm64

Noticeable changes:

• no more download song == only stream: song start immediately but you need make futify unsuspendable in UTTT
• update to qt 5.12
• update to golang module
• use APL (adaptative page layout): no convergence yet but on the way
• rework global menu and global navigation
• default theme set to dark (can be changed in settings)
• when a song can not be played an error song is played (configurable in settings)
• display error in login page

Know bug:

• media-hub don't display songs infos (hard to fix)
• some times playlist stop working (error song was added to be notified of that)

Should be the last version before adding Futify to the open-store! Please stop me if you find a blocking bug!

@malditobastardo and @Lakotaubp yes sorry but I use librspot and it is not compatible with free account! I need to add a warning somewhere...

@Fla Hi thanks for your interest! I use librspot it's not officially supported by spotify but community is strong and lot of client has been done with that (I love the raspberry device manageable by official spotify apps)!

Technically all songs are stored locally to be streamed to player... So all songs can be stored to be played offline! I will work on that asap

@kugiigi Hahaha I need to share your post to spotify, if they get users with futify maybe they will accept I do an offline mode

Before store in need to:

• Do a really true home (now the first page display nothing :smiling_face: )
• Manage media-hud correctly (for now the image is not displayed)
• Add account/setting and/or about pages
• of course debug...

After that the app will go to the store. It's the plan but it's change every day

During this time trying it with ut-tweak is really simple. Just download click package and install it!

@Fla Oups sorry missing your ping. Can you retest the app? Because I have same log on my Nexus5 and on my PInePhone but the app is working...

For all of you waiting for a new version, I am investigating a new approach... If it's not successful I will encrypt data or full stream data to be sure no one can take song out of Futify.

I'm Dev and I want to start a truly native qml Twitter client. I've played with online accounts and service Twitter service don't work (infinite loading) for Facebook I can't finish the process because of not valid app.

So my question is: should I use online account? Do you plan to support it in mid term? If so can I add services (LinkedIn, GitHub, Gitlab...) And how? Or it's better to Dev an internal app system with web engine?

I love the idea behind https://github.com/ubports/buteo-sync-plugins-social how can I play with that? Or help to develop it if no plan to abandon it!?

@chrisse can you test with last version here please? For the queue bug I think it's due to bad download file. Sometimes spotify refuse to start download but it happens 1 song on 100 for me not every time! I need to show errors in qml to let you (and other users) know what is wrong.

In any case please don't hesitate to open an issue specially if you have a reproduction case! It will help me
