@_Joao_ have you tried (re)installing the Waydroid Stop app by means of the Waydroid Helper app?

RE: Whatts App...again!
@Dunbrokin I use WhatsWeb from the open store, which, after the latest update and switch to beta mode, works quite reasonable for me.

RE: Whatts App...again!
@Dunbrokin in case I understood your issue correctly, have you tried beta mode, activated a bit hidden in help? This setting would however apply to all your WhatsApp web instances.

RE: How to detect Ubuntu Touch using system variables in shell script?
@GermanAizek while the title specifies 'using system variables', the text does not explicitly mention. Hence I dare to suggest, if alternatively it might be an option, to e.g. check for a certain directory/file existence, or read/write access. Any suggestions, what might be distinctive and permanent for touch vs. desktop?

RE: Dekko2 dangling messages
@mschmids after deleting some messages in the recycle bin on the email server, older then the dangling messages in dekko2, the later ones are now gone as well.

Dekko2 dangling messages
My Dekko2 keeps some dangling messages, which are actually not on the email server. Hence I can not delete them via. e.g. the web app. In dekko2 I can delete them from the inbox, which moves them to the recycle bin, but can not permanently delete them there. Hitting the delete icon just temporarily shows the undo button, but the message remains.
Fiddling around with dekko2.dekkoproject in .cache / .config / .local share I ain't really any wiser. It seems that .cache/dekko2.dekkoproject/mail contains only the message body.
Is it save, to use the dekko2 setting manage cache, to purge messages older then selection, i.e. without loosing messages on the server?
Also any other idea would be highly appreciated.

RE: [How-To] Record Calls
@Br1 in certain countries already recording non public conversations without consent is a crime. If you listen just yourself to the recording, it will most probably remain unnoticed though. No plaintiff, no judge. The fact remains.
A visits B at home. They talk over a warm drink. B records the conversation unnoticed on the cell phone. C has access to this cell phone, finds the recording file and posts it on the Internet.
B is liable to prosecution under Section §201 (1) no. 1 StGB, because of recording the private conversation without consent. C is liable to prosecution under Section §201 (1) no. 2 StGB, because of making the recording accessible to third parties.

RE: [How-To] Record Calls
@Br1 while this conversation appears to revolve around technical aspects, I would like to also point out, that as UT lovers we appreciate privacy, which is not only ours, but also of others. This is not only a moral consideration, but in certain countries also reflected by the laws. Violation of confidentiality of the word, by (1) recording non public conversations without consent and (2) making available to others such records. Technical feasibility versus legitimacy or legacy do not necessarily go hand in hand.

RE: Generic CalDAV not working on 20.04 (OTA-2)
@hilbert you might want to have a look at .cache/syncevolution and .config/syncevolution both in /home/phablet.

RE: How to enable Waydroid on a OnePlus 6
@Dunbrokin in case of interest, typically pressing volume up/down simultaneously creates a screen shot.

RE: Close to being able to use my OP6 as my daily phone....but for these two issues.
@Dunbrokin in the corresponding account settings calendar and/or contacts can be enabled/disabled, in the UT calendar app the individual calendars of your account (yours, family, imported, ...) can be enabled/disabled (icon top and second from right). Hope that helps.

RE: Hardware recommendation for Focal
@PhAndersson not really answering your questions, but wrt. the Xiaomi Mi A2, while I have the very same experience with the camera, I do not encounter any such issue with the GPS.

RE: Generic CalDAV not working on 20.04 (OTA-2)
@hilbert good to hear, that you already succeeded to some extend.
There might be different possibilities, as also indicated by the various hints in previously linked help section, which accordingly I use https://posteo.de:8443/calendars/<username>/default
It has been a while, so I do not exactly recall, what went wrong, but I have deactivated the creation of the update script and crontab file from within the script and instead accomplished these steps manually.
By far not and expert, rather through pattern matching, I have furthermore made two small tweaks to the calendar database instructions according those for the contacts (see Sync=None and backend=evolution-contacts / backend=evolution-calendar).
The synchronization from within the calendar app with the clockwise arrow symbol, to my understanding relates only to those accounts added via the UT GUI for instance via system settings / accounts.
With reference to your other thread, I chose the following values for the other parameters, which I understand to be arbitrary naming conventions for various occurrences:
- CALENDAR_CONFIG_NAME="calendarPosteo"
- CALENDAR_NAME="calendarposteo"
- CALENDAR_VISUAL_NAME="CalendarPosteo"

RE: Generic CalDAV not working on 20.04 (OTA-2)
@hilbert credentials for CalDAV and CardDAV are available in the Posteo help section. I am successfully using the syncevolution based CalDAV and CardDAV integration with said provider. However, continuous synchronization in this approach is cron based, which is not available in Focal.
Just noted your other related thread with reference to syncevolution.

@Alter furthermore edit contact / verify contact from within a chat does not yield any action.

RE: Call and message icons
@Josele13 said in Call and message icons:
@mschmids I open the recent calls
You are getting close
and I only see the calls,
According the "All" selection at the top, all outgoing and incoming (accepted and missed) calls are shown.
no way to find the call that is showing on the icon,
Now select "Missed" at the top, where n (according phone app icon indicator) top most calls have been missed recently.
anyway if I have several missed calls I don't want to waste time opening them because the icon tells me that there are 20 calls or even messages,
I also don't want to delete the calls made, received or missed in case I need to justify them. The above, i.e. selecting "Missed" at the top, should instantly clear the phone app icon indicator.
Hope you do not mind and can handle the language setting in the above screen shots and spot the different selection, as it might not be that evident.
-
RE: Call and message icons
@Josele13 in the phone app swipe up from the bottom for the recent calls view, where you can select to show all or missed calls, the later clearing the indicator of the phone app icon, without the need to select individual calls. Hope that helps.
-
RE: Call and message icons
@Josele13 switching in the recent view from all to missed tab, clears the indicator in the app icon, in case this is the missing piece for the issue on hand.

RE: Cron not installed?
@arubislander said in Cron not installed?:
For instance, there is now no supported way of running custom background processes on UT.
Now this is a convincing argument to me. Since cron, by its very nature, interfers with the sleep / wake handling, significant to the mobile OS design, as was once explained in length. So I asume the use of sytemd makes no difference in this regard.
Still CalDAV and CardDAV syncing is essential in my setup.
