    Hi!

I have a problem with my Bluetooth helmet headset (Cardo Freecom 1+) using with VollaX23, it pairs fine and I am able to stream audio, but there is no sound or mic input when making calls. Unit works fine with android phone, also other bluetooth headsets work fine during calls.

    Here is dbus log:

It seems like to switch correctly to HSP and when receiving calls the headset sounds incoming call sound. But when call is answered there is no sound, I can switch to phone or even speaker and it works fine, only the headset seems to be muted during calls.

    Pulseaudio log displays only

    library "libsndcardparser.so" not found.

Thanks in advance and any help is greatly appreciated.

Hi, I have a slightly different problem. Oneplus Nord N100 (UT 24.04-1.2 stable) with Nissan hands-free kit <MyCar>. Pairing works without any errors, but the screen shows that no network is available. This means that I cannot make or receive calls. image20260223_151514524.png[image: 1772400412224-9cd5c12b-0204-409c-a456-f4a635e3a255-image.jpeg] It seems that my hands-free kit cannot handle VoLTE, is that correct? With UT 20.04 OTA 9 / on the 3G network, it was possible to make calls using the hands-free system. Greetins Mario

Has anyone succeeded in getting the Calendar to connect to iCloud as a general CalDAV account?

I've set it up in System Settings > Accounts on my OnePlus Nord N10 running 24.04-1.x daily.

In the Calendar app, I've clicked on Add online Calendar and selected the Account I set up.

The first time I click on the refresh button in the Calendar app (the button third from the right in the upper right), an alert comes up that the sync has finished. The calendar shown remains blank and the refresh button now has a red exclamation.

When I click on the refresh again, an alert pops up that says Sync error.

I do have an app-specific password and I use this configuration information on other systems, such as my Linux desktop (in Thunderbird).

    TIA.

@lsitongia Maybe you could try in the terminal (or better connected via ssh) a command like: syncevolution --print-databases backend=caldav username=<your-user-name> password=<your-password> syncURL=<your-service-url> as an example, the service URL for my test radicale server looks like: http://192.168.20.12:5232

I am trying to install Ubuntu Touch on a Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 with Ubports. Ubports recognises the device and starts flashing it. After flashing is almost finished, the device boots into UBports recovery and at the bottom of the screen is the following written: failed to save locale to cache recovery last locale no such file or directory. I can try whatever option on the menu, it always boots back to this UBports recovery or another menu or Fastboot. What can I do to get UBports to install Ubuntu Touch?

"Robust, slim, strong Successor to the Volla Phone X23"
    8/128 GB for Plinius
    12/256 GB for Plinius Plus
In both cases "expandable by up to 1 TB with MicroSD memory card"

As usual available with VollaOS or Ubuntu Touch or both with multiboot

"Save up to 15% with the code PLINIUS":

    https://volla.online/en/volla-phone-plinius/

Those Volla Plinius are clearly linked to the GS6 and GS6 PRO from Gigaset:
    https://www.gigaset.com/hq_en/gigaset-gs6/
Regarding the hardware two differences though for Plinius Plus versus GS6 PRO are 12GB of RAM/ 8GB and the Plinius Plus back with Pogo PIN.
As usual, the software is what most differentiates the Volla from the Gigaset, with VollaOS, Ubuntu Touch, multiboot and other softwares and services integrated by Volla.

I admire the partnership between UBports and Volla. It's very good to have two new modern high-performance smartphones supporting 5g. This has nothing to do with UT but I am less confident in the future with what we will be able to do with UT as a daily use smartphone and especially with androîd alternatives like Volla OS or others due to upcoming restrictions from Google and the incidious need to use official apps with real Google Play services, Micro G being rarely sufficient. This will not dissuade me from continuing to support Volla.

Today I received the update to 24.04-1.2 on my Pixel 3a, which is set to channel 24.04-1.x Stable
Checking the UBports news section, I found this article, but I could not find any announcement of the release of 24.04-1.2 on the forum. Was this missed?

I've replicated what follows from the Telegram Supergroup, as that's no place to collect observations from people using a variety of phones. Hopefully some patterns will emerge that inspire improvements.

I have a Nexus5 and, since 16.04, regularly get over 24hrs from the battery. OTOH I have noticed that there are (still) issues:

    1. Sometimes it gets to a state that "eats" battery very quickly when not in use. Shutting down (which, in this state often need two tries before the screen goes fully black) and rebooting seems to fix this.

    2. Closing Telegram manually when not in use (and not relying on the "lifecycle" suspend) reduces battery usage noticeably.

I don't think I should have to use the tweak tool to add the battery % to the indicators and monitor it, but I cope. I've not yet had headspace for any serious digging into what's going on.

In any case, battery drains too quickly when in use. Luckily my usage isn't heavy.

Edit: A bit more on my usage pattern:

WiFi and Bluetooth are off when not being used. And overnight is in "flight mode".

WiFi is invariably for "hotspot" and the phone doesn't last the half-full "working day" I need. So it is plugged into power. (OK, as I'll have a laptop battery for that.)

Bluetooth also increases drain, but not enough to worry me for the typical podcast-length use I make of it during a day.

Edit 2: Having a few more details I've reported issue 1.

Just wanted to share that I had some battery issues (draining too fast, often draining the entire battery within 1 day) with a OnePlus Nord N10 5g. The phone I purchased was an old refurbished one and I'm not sure if the battery was refreshed or if it was the original battery. Nonetheless, my battery issues have seemed to resolved and thought I'd share. It may help others or not. So, take it or leave it. By default, the screen brightness was quite high (to the far right on the slider) and I can't recall if "Adjust automatically" was enabled or not. I manually selected the screen brightness to the lowest level I could tolerate without feeling like I couldn't see the screen. Surprisingly for me, I can move the slider almost all the way to the left. I also unchecked the "Adjust automatically". So, now the screen brightness is using the minimal battery. (I believe this was the biggest gain for me). Furthermore, I am fairly conscious to disable WiFi unless I am actively using it for internet access. That is all I did and now the battery lasts a couple days without charging (vs completely drain in 1 day) and does not drain much at all. One last thing I am mindful of is to only use the charging cable that came with the device. I think the fast chargers that are more modern may easily cycle/overcharge older batteries and reduce the battery's long term life. With all batteries, there is a limited number of charging cycles and you'll notice that each 100% full charge may not last as long as when it was brand new. Overcharging (while at 100%) and/or letting the battery drain completely to 0% may reduce the life of the battery a bit. So, being mindful to unplug when at 100% and to start charging before it gets too low may help in maximizing its life. Hope this helps. Good luck maximizing your device's battery life!

be flashed with this UBTouch image and then used as a Linux smart device similar to the Ubuntu Touch M10?
I have no experience with Ubuntu Touch or porting to other smart devices or other IoT devices. If this model still runs on Linux, I could continue to use it wonderfully and would like to try to gather all the information I can in this thread. Please answer this for me and feel free to provide links and other information that can be found on the web.

    Cya!
Thank you very much and goodbye.

@Upruzzinga said in Lenovo model that is two years older than the M10.: be flashed with this UBTouch image and then used as a Linux smart device similar to the Ubuntu Touch M10? Very, very unlikely and there is a risk you'll brick it. Phones and tablets differ a lot more than PCs do. Each device needs its own installation file and if there isn't one, it's generally not a good idea to flash one that is meant for a different device.

On 20 January 2026, Thailand government conducted a nationwide cell broadcast test. I've put my Ubuntu Touch devices to the test, and here are test results:

    Snapshot_2026-01-20_14-39-55.png

    This requires some explanation:

    • MR 34 refers to ofono-sailfish!34 which fixes how oFono dumps the raw CBS SMS from the network in case oFono fails to decode it.
    • "Broad topic subscription" refers to me setting the subscribed topics beyond what is possible in Ubuntu Touch UI. Ubuntu Touch UI uses a hardcoded subset of CB topics, which does not include all topics I know exists for Thailand. More importantly, it does not include topic 4370 (National Alert) which supposedly should be always enabled.
    • "Msg info" is pulled from my Android phone running Android 16, designated as the reference device which should always receive this CB.
    • My Volla Phone 22 have a non-Thai SIM in it, and my Volla Phone X23 have a non-Thai and expired SIM in it. That's because that's all SIM I own...

There are a few notable things in this result:

    • Interestingly, even though Fairphone 5 does not have "4370" topic subscribed in oFono, it still receives a broadcast with topic "4370". This may indicates that FP5's firmware does always subscribe to topic 4370.
    • On the other hand, Volla Phone 22 which also does not have "4370" topic subscribed, does not receive the broadcast. Although, the SIM card I have in this device is actually a non-Thai one. So it's not clear if this device doesn't not receive a broadcast because the topic was not subscribed or because the device is in roaming mode.
      • In theory. roaming-ness should not affect the ability to receive broadcast. In practice, I don't know.
      • In hindsight, I should have swapped my Volla Phone Quintus to not have "broad topic subscription" and put it on my Volla Phone 22 instead, so it's clear what failure mode affects it.
    • On both devices that does not receive broadcast, I do not see an indication in the log that it has received a broadcast but cannot decode it.

I still maintain that we'll need a CB topic database from e.g. Android and should not not rely on hardcoded set of topics from a non-regional specification. Unfortunately, the test today is inconclusive on whether we need to explicitly subscribe to topic "4370" or not.

That's it for today. I'll continue to watch the news and be prepared when the next round of testing happens.

I've seen that some apps do their translations in this Weblate site:

    https://hosted.weblate.org/projects/ubports/#components

Can I add an app that I manage in the Openstore to this site? And if so, how?

I answer myself: Yes, one has to ask the Weblate administrators.

I have used Ubtouch for several years, but I have a reoccuring problem that keeps coming back: Sometimes people complain in phonecalls that they have difficulties to understand. The sound quality becomes choppy or at least far away from 'crystal clear'. I can hear them well. It can start after a minute or two, or it could come anytime. I'm not on the move, but sitting in the same spot during the entire call. Rebooting the phone sometimes helps. In the past I have thought it could be because of second hand or old phones, but now I have a Fairphone 4 with a fresh install. Where should I start troubleshooting?

@lduboeuf This has been my experience using a Oneplus N10. Since VoLTE landed, idle drain has seemed notably less pronounced. A very nice surprise, especially on a device with an aged battery.

I have a bq Aquaris E5 FHD, and i cant find any build, like not even Canonical's one, ive even searched in https://system-image.ubports.com/ im desperate! And its not like i can just go to the website and search it, because bq went out of buisness! So if someone has a link to the zip file with the images and the MTK scatter file, it would help a lot! You can't do much with Android Lollipop.
Just a reminder to anyone helping: I specifically need the FHD (1080p) version, not the HD (720p). The HD files use the MT6582 scatter, while my FHD model needs the MT6592 scatter. Using the wrong one will result in a hang/bootloop in the bq screen, thanks!

@tacetion so is it up and running with UT? A prototype is well worth keeping, collectors may seek something like that out..... It could also have had a screen replacement...

    Hello all,

It's been almost a year since last calendar-app release...
We plan to release a new version after 24.04.1.2 and 20.04 OTA11

Amongst many translation updates, this version contains bug fixes and new features:
For the complete list, see commits started from 2025/05/27:
    https://gitlab.com/ubports/development/apps/lomiri-calendar-app/-/commits/main?author=Lionel Duboeuf

Bug fixes should be the closed tickets since 9 months: https://gitlab.com/ubports/development/apps/lomiri-calendar-app/-/issues?sort=updated_desc&state=closed&first_page_size=50

    New features:

    • Be able to create/remove local calendars
    • Set minutes in working hours
    • Make links in description clickable
    • Link to default reminder alarm sound setting
    • Smoother experience

    How to test:
Some fixes only apply if you are on current RC of 20.04 or 24.04, but most should work on stable.
Download this file and open it with OpenStore : https://gitlab.com/ubports/development/apps/lomiri-calendar-app/-/jobs/13104368154/artifacts/raw/build/aarch64-linux-gnu/app/calendar.ubports_1.1.4-88-g75d22242_arm64.click
It will replace the stable version with the beta.
You can always go back to current stable version of calendar-app via OpenStore ( Installed apps->stable version available )

    Happy testing

@projectmoon said in Call for testing: calendar-app: @lduboeuf said in Call for testing: calendar-app: @projectmoon said in Call for testing: calendar-app: @lduboeuf So unfortunately, calendar sync is still broken. The calendar that was syncing (connection to Nextcloud via generic caldav instead of built-in Nextcloud integration) is no longer syncing. Only thing I see in Evolution logs is something about i_cal_time_compare < 0 failed. I turned the Nextcloud integration itself back on for Calendar, and that synced fine... But I don't know if it will sync more later. Sorry, i don't understand, you mean it works or not ? Please also precise on which OS version are you . The sync can be sometimes unstable ( and it always has been). It is sometimes needed to recreate all accounts ( remove them all, reboot, recreate them) Stable 1.2, and the accounts were previously already cleared and removed from Evolution. Re-re-(re?)-creating the accounts shouldn't be necessary, I would hope. What I mean is that the Generic CalDAV Account seemed to stop syncing. But when I re-enabled the Nextcloud Account, that synced fine. I have two Online Accounts set up on the phone. Both point to my Nextcloud instance. Just one is the "proper" Nextcloud Online Account and the other is Generic CalDAV. Yes, there are reports where sometimes it happens and we don't know what is happening. Only by removing the account, then rebooting, then re-creating it fixed the issue. The new backend is more stable regarding that, but not here yet.

I recently rebooted up my UB touch phone (Oneplus 3)
However there's no updates for it. And I can't see any new installs on the site.

It feels like the store is even more sparse than I remember when I was using it as a daily driver.

I'm taking it I'm on an unsupported version of UB touch? Under About it says the OS is Ubuntu 16.04 (OTA-25)

So a bunch of questions really

    • Is there an updated UB touch for Oneplus 3 or do I need to buy a new phone like the OnePlus Nord N100?

    • What is the best pdf reader on UB touch? I've been using Sturm reader which is quite nice but nowhere near as functional as the android app which provides highlighting, books marks, ability to export bookmarks..

    • Which is the best phone for the best experience of UB touch?

@PringleMingle If you loved your Op3, try finding a used Op5 or 5t! Very good device, and very close to what you are used to... except this one runs the latest version of Ubuntu Touch. And nowadays they can be had for a song.

    hello,
I know that the Sony Xperia X is not maintained today.
But, since we can use it with the UT 24.04, do you think there is any chance to make the FM radio works now ? Does it change somthing ?

I believe there was an app for it but not sure if it ever worked or if it still works. I never got FM radio on UT so I wouldn't hold ny breath waiting for one

    Hello,
view weeks ago I started to switch from Android (Calyx OS) to Ubuntu Touch.
I use my smartphone also as a freelancer and need to relay on it.
I tried few Navigation Apps and Organic Maps works at its best for me. It is, in a good way, simple, to use.

I wrote to them, if they like to adapted it to UT.

I have no idea in programming, but I wanted to share the answer:

    "Hi O.....

We would love to support the development of OM for UT more actively, but our resources are very limited. With enough donations or active contributors/developers the situation may change.

There's already the cross-platform C++ core, only the good UI should be developed on top of it (although it's a lot of work…)

What are your thoughts/ideas on that?

    With best regards,

    Alexander Borsuk

@projectmoon I installed the package qtubuntu-qt6 provided by Ubports into my bundle, the same that is used in Morph Qt6 version.
