@hlbkv gnome software can handle debs and flatpaks (and on Ubuntu also snaps I think). The app itself is a deb, so it is not surprising that it can be installed. The apps that end up being able to be installed with it are probably also debs.

Just an update, I gave up on trying the KDEConnect workaround. I did some deep investigation on resolving the issue within Waydroid itself, and documented my progress. It's definitely a feature-request in Waydroid. https://github.com/waydroid/waydroid/issues/211 I haven't done any more work on it for a while, since my last post on github. There are a few libs being used in Waydroid, which I linked to, which have sparse documentation. I don't have deep enough knowledge of these languages and platforms to be able to fix this easily - not to mention android's workflow for builds. Wasn't able to do a build of LineageOS on my PC; some incompatibility with package versions. It'd be nice to resolve this for everybody who uses Waydroid, but IRL is taking priority for now.

@uxes I think there is also a special Linux news channel in the Ubuntu Touch openstore where you can read such newsletters more easily. When I still had Xenial installed on the same device, I used this channel. I never read anything like that with Dekko2. I was also told that Dekko2 is not encrypted. Of course, that didn't bother me as I knew it was a small alternative operating system.

@TechLovingHuman The Nexus 5 is quite old and most apps will work if they are written for 16.04. Video playback has been OK for me. Please bear in mind due to its age, battery life may be below par and it has a design fault that cause it to commit suicide with a boot loop - the reason- some designer decided it was a good idea to put the RAM and eMMC together which leads to overheating and failing due to solder issues or just dying. However it was and is a great device. :beaming_face_with_smiling_eyes:

@thedeafenguy Does it need sudo or any interactive step? I think those are not supported. Check Waydroid's desktop files but it's possible only normal commands will work and no scripts.

@mschmids said in How to detect Ubuntu Touch using system variables in shell script?: e.g. check for a certain directory/file existence, or read/write access. indeed, I can still check write/read permissions for Ubuntu Touch /image, but this is not ideal. As a developer, I made image not temporary, write persistent.

For those who are still wondering about how to reinstall android after UT, here are some hints for you: Check the usb-c cable. They may differ very much. In my case I had 3 very good ones… one from Samsung and two from Realme which I have bought on ali. To my surprise only one of them worked properly. I have no idea why. However, all of them work great for datatransfer and charging on all devices. Install all 3 Android USB-drivers which are attached to the package archive like you can see on [image: Z8wD0w2] If you are flashing through Android Flash Tool and get stuck at the installation process with “In Process” pending forever you should unplug your device and press a power button to switch it to the [image: grs3f08] then reconnect it on the chrome browser page and it should start working from then.

@AdhithAdhi Yes of course you can give it a try. Here you can find a useful documentation: https://docs.ubports.com/en/latest/porting/introduction/index.html I also see that the porter for the Poco M3 is TheKit, you can also try and reach out to him for help in your attempt or even to learn about the status of an experimental version of focal for your device.

@mihael Wow, then I guess this should be logged as an issue in Gitlab. Music files shouldn't be scanned from Videos directory since the Music app doesn't have access to it

@AppLee said in How to Force a Public Wi-Fi Network Login Page to Open?: Warning, IMHO this should only works if you do not force the use of specific DNS server. You should also deactivate VPN while registering to the new network You are right. I must check that again when i will take the train again but not this week-end..

@zubozrout said in Where are logs in focal ?: I would suggest trying this app: https://open-store.io/app/logviewer.ruditimmer, which simplifies the access to logs using kjournald as a backend. I of course use this very good and essential app which does the work automatically. Thank you for your explanation which clarifies a little in my head.

@laschrocket said in Is it possible to tether internet via usb? (Solved, works very good.): I did not manage to install ut tweak tool directly on phone either with click or pkcon. Now you have the official UTTT in OpenStore, and ir's a great thing for focal : Thanks again to Jami Kettunen who does all-out work to make focal attractive. As a reminder, you can install every .click using 'Open with' OpenStore. [image: 1707765532929-screenshot20240212_200719059.png]

@ezst036 Quality is usually down to your network provider. Your provider may limit size and reduce quality to speed up the process.

I figured out a way to do a manual install using TWRP of an old version of UBPorts, then I can use the UBPorts installer on a phone that has UBPorts on it already. So I do not need to try building from source and doing these things. Marked as solved. I put the steps I took in the OnePlus specific forum instead of the general support area. If on the off chance anybody actually knows how to use this script, I would like to hear about it. Feel free to put the information out there.
