@hlbkv gnome software can handle debs and flatpaks (and on Ubuntu also snaps I think). The app itself is a deb, so it is not surprising that it can be installed. The apps that end up being able to be installed with it are probably also debs.

Just an update, I gave up on trying the KDEConnect workaround. I did some deep investigation on resolving the issue within Waydroid itself, and documented my progress. It's definitely a feature-request in Waydroid. https://github.com/waydroid/waydroid/issues/211 I haven't done any more work on it for a while, since my last post on github. There are a few libs being used in Waydroid, which I linked to, which have sparse documentation. I don't have deep enough knowledge of these languages and platforms to be able to fix this easily - not to mention android's workflow for builds. Wasn't able to do a build of LineageOS on my PC; some incompatibility with package versions. It'd be nice to resolve this for everybody who uses Waydroid, but IRL is taking priority for now.

I wanted this too but so far I haven't found a way even with a code. For now, you can only use the lock option from the system indicator but it won't turn off the screen, just lock.

@treebeard uNav, album, alarm clock, and utlnwallet (for Bitcoin) added above. That's all folks. None of the other apps I have installed seem to have a url dispatcher command configured. I had a look through the url dispatcher source code very briefly and it seems to support both these mechanisms: <command>:// (two slashes) <appid>:/// (three slashes) so more apps may be dispatchable, but that's as much as I know.

I'm new, also running UbuntuTouch 16.04 as of this morning. I'm wondering why this doesn't work 'out of the box', we have a /etc/init.d/ssh and it's active for the run levels we want. I've spent some time trying to trace this, without luck. The standard hack is to put stuff in /etc/rc.local, so that's what I did in the end (service ssh start).

@keep-flying humm, not sure about that, and i don't understand how a sms can go to another device as it should be attached to a SIM card. What i would try is to return back to Android on your UT device, disable the RCS ootion there, then reinstall UT. The operator need to know that you are not using RCS anymore.

@unger I don't think you understand how our 'support' works. We are a volunteer based project. Ports are mostly volunteer work. It takes time and skill and access to the device being ported. You seem to have at least two of the required three things, maybe you could try your hand at it.

There is not such settings afaik. The timeout is hardcoded in Lomiri iirc more defined in the notification service: https://gitlab.com/ubports/development/core/lomiri-notifications/-/blob/main/src/NotificationServer.cpp?ref_type=heads#L147

@capitanemo said in Little help with my Lenovo Tab M10 X605F: does this mean i should never reset it? Not really. But it seems that it still can happen, that it doesn't boot from time to time. Reinistalling the system, using the installer (without wipe and without bootstrap) did help in my case.

@Tommy You might look at https://jmp.chat/ I got it for pure XMPP access to SMS/MMS, but later got their SIM and a data plan. They're a MVNO--T-Mobile here--and have a fork of Android Conversations to also do telephone calls (based on WebRTC, apparently). So it might help, though of course I recognize an Android app isn't an immediate solution for UBports! But they do support SIP into telephony for your phone #. https://f-droid.org/en/packages/com.cheogram.android/

@Noblius said in On which phones can ubuntu touch be downloaded?: I wonder if Ubuntu Touch can be downloaded to new phones. Hello! All the phones that Ubuntu Touch can be installed on, are listed on the device page. If it's not on that list, you can't install it. Each device needs to have its own custom version made, we call that a port; making a port is not easy or fast, it takes a lot of work. Downloading Ubuntu Touch to a phone is not really a thing so I assumed you meant installing. If i got that wrong, please let me know.

@uxes said in Generic CalDAV not working on 20.04 (OTA-2): it seems to be same issue as described there, i am not able to sync calendar with my nextcloud, just initially but then never after first reboot https://gitlab.com/ubports/development/apps/lomiri-calendar-app/-/issues/231 Logs would help: e.g journalctl -b | grep sync-monitor

Try the following steps with any media player on your device. If the data is on the SD card, copy the file to the device's memory. Then try to play the data. Please note that it is best to use only Mp4 data as a movie. Otherwise there is an alternative with Libertine and the Kodi Mediacenter with effort. You can also try the hint with audio data.
