@hlbkv gnome software can handle debs and flatpaks (and on Ubuntu also snaps I think). The app itself is a deb, so it is not surprising that it can be installed. The apps that end up being able to be installed with it are probably also debs.

Just an update, I gave up on trying the KDEConnect workaround. I did some deep investigation on resolving the issue within Waydroid itself, and documented my progress. It's definitely a feature-request in Waydroid. https://github.com/waydroid/waydroid/issues/211 I haven't done any more work on it for a while, since my last post on github. There are a few libs being used in Waydroid, which I linked to, which have sparse documentation. I don't have deep enough knowledge of these languages and platforms to be able to fix this easily - not to mention android's workflow for builds. Wasn't able to do a build of LineageOS on my PC; some incompatibility with package versions. It'd be nice to resolve this for everybody who uses Waydroid, but IRL is taking priority for now.

You can also flash through fastboot using the bat files (windows) or sh files (Linux) as below: [image: 1707558719913-nomiflashfastboot.jpg] In this case unzip the zipped image to your folder containing ADB and Fastboot, open a command prompt and run it from there.

@arubislander Weird, I got the image at https://ci.ubports.com/job/rootfs/job/rootfs-pinephone-systemimage/ linked from https://gitlab.com/ubports/porting/community-ports/pinephone and it's the latest artifact. I did come across the proper link, but couldn't flash it because it was a .raw, so I disregarded it, didn't know you had to rename it. So glad I didn't spend another day going mad over this. It's working now! Thank you so muchhhhhhh!

@dln949 Good to see this issue is one that is close to your heart. Are you able and / or willing to dive into the issue from a source code, or from a debugging point of view to help this issue forward?

Fastboot should normally be available all the time. As already mentioned, UT is not locking anything so you should really be able to boot to fastboot and it is very weird that you can not. Other than that, the first Google result for stock rom gave me this: https://xiaomifirmwareupdater.com/miui/lavender/ which is the site I normally install stock roms for Xiaomi devices (works on Linux too). But basically (and while I know little about it) I believe you need to have either adb or fastboot working. It is really hard to help you not knowing more information. I don't know how deep we should go. E.g. How are you trying to access fastboot? Doesn't the usual key combination (probably volume down + power button) work?

@Keneda Thanks! I found a script on: https://forums.ubports.com/topic/1012/one-method-to-encrypt-home-phablet/33, which I will continue to pursue. But I haven't found any newer instructions yet. Since this is a solution almost 3 years old, I thought that there might be newer options, which may have been implemented in the operating system or created as an app. If anyone is using LUKS encryption, it would be helpful if someone would like to share it here.

A command I've found which changes the authentication method from the command line is: /usr/share/ofono/scripts/set-context-property 1 AuthenticationMethod pap The number may vary depending on which order the APNs are displayed in /usr/share/ofono/scripts/list-contexts. I found this on https://docs.droidian.org/info/apn/

@smithe To hide icons modify the desktop entries on /usr/share/applications/ or /home/phablet/.local/share/applications, and add a NoDisplay=true

@arubislander said in How to change the password of a system account?: I think the main issue is that your token gets invalidated because of the password change. Did you use your actual account password? What if you create an application password in Nextcloud and use that instead? EDIT: I can confirm that if you add the account using an application password, then changing the account password has no effect on the token, and you continue to be able to access the server from both Ghostcloud and UBSync. This is a good idea! I did not think of that. I will try this too, thank you! EDIT: App password works, this is the way! I'll just trust it will still work when I change the user PW. XD

@contiomega For RMA you can send it to another country by post they have instructions for it. For BROM mode, there are some guides in the internet for unlocking it (or something like https://www.hovatek.com/blog/how-to-force-a-mediatek-device-into-brom-mode/), but I hadn't heard that it can be locked before.
