@bearbobs sorry for the late reply its been busy with work...did you have to host the emulationstation?....because not sure how to host from within a clickable.....Iv seen the project before but have not really done anything with it....if it runs totally client side its do able....but if it needs hosting I don't think it can be done....the nes I'm working on is a heavily modded JavaScript emulator runs totally client side i added touch support fixed up the audio and added a lot of mapper support.....one big issue is the webview out of the box is....well lacking...if you load mario you will see black squares around the clouds and other sprites...not the emulator but the webview....

@lduboeuf it helped me to know that you succeeded by installing again and again. I just let the installer run again, chose 16.04/stable (as i also tried before) and BINGO! I think i installed for about 20 times now...thank you everybody for spending time on open source. I might be back with further questions...

@lakotaubp Sorry. The post in #design was meant for feedback, this was meant for finding help/as a guide for future users. I suppose they ended up seeming redundant.

@ktatar156 You need to allow insecure apps in the google account for contacts to sync iirc and gmail accounts will work in dekko2 but need setting up in the app this is for 16.04.

@ktatar156 I seem to remember reading on here somewhere that there is a now a problem adding gmail accounts to dekko2 due to security/authentication changes on the Google side of the fence. There might be a workaround, you will have to do a search for the details I'm afraid. Edit: I think I found the info you need, try this thread:- https://forums.ubports.com/topic/7874/can-t-create-gmail-account-in-dekko?_=1673008816411

Hi @keneda, At the beginning, I didn't want to refer to UT devices, and just quickly looked at mine. I thought someone from the community would correct me, as usual. :beaming_face_with_smiling_eyes: Greetings Mario

@rogier-oudshoorn : I don't need that Dekko2 checks my email every x minutes. I just need a mail client able to check "on demand" a few e-mail accounts in a safe way. It seems to me that this is what Dekko1 did. Dekko2 should have an option to run without all privileges ! This is the only thing that prevent me from switching definitively from Ubuntu Touch Canonical OTA-15 version (on my daily driver BQ E5) to Ubports OTA-24 (used only for testing on my second BQ E5). So sad ... BR Pulsar33

@raybiko Well, yes. This is a phone. The idea is to throttle as much as possible when the device is sleeping. Hence the repeated advice not to reason about your phone in the same way you reason about a raspberry pi, for instance. However, if battery life is not a concern for you, you could try disabling app suspension for the Terminal app in the Ubuntu Tweak Tool, available in the Open Store.

@stropbu Just quit tested on my N5 and i can confirm i have issues with its camera. No all quite the same as you but there are. I have the rear camera working (preview and photos taken), but once, after manual focusing on a very bright part of my tv screen, app control just vanished. On front camera, preview is reverted, but photo that outputs is in right orientation (edit : just tested on my MX4, same behavior on front camera, maybe it's intended ?) Also i have what you describes, manual focusing with front camera just make buttons not working for some loooong seconds after focusing finished (capture button color stays gray instead of white during that time). Did not tested in OTA-23 and previous as it is my spare phone.
