Hi @emphrath I don't know about the specific way you described. But it is possible to download the click file from the Open-Store. You can back them up somewhere in order to recover them later.

Hi @bezjosh99 What do you intend to do ? Flash and HTML5 are two different technology so I don't think you can. But everything is possible so if you're willing to do the job you might get there...

@ublique said in Administering the router and firewall on your phone while usb tethering.: So @pulsar33 could you briefly outline the steps for an average linux user to get your Libertine container set up and working? Anything would be helpful. So, the OP was not Libertine specific and this was only one suggest on which I bounced. Well, I'm afraid not to have as many knowledge as you expect but I hope to be an average Linux user For the Libertine part, I think that what I will say would be in a better place in the Libertine category. So, I will just insert a link here pointing to Gently setup a Libertine container and some applications For the main subject, I thought at the begining that you wanted a graphical management of the communications displayed on the phone while your laptop were accessing the internet through usb tethering. Reading your further developments, it seems that you prefer a GUI on laptop side. I think that some people have a better knowledge than me to guide you this way. BR Pulsar33

@cibersheep : you're right, I undestand now and yes I see the arrows for the threads which were moved to Libertine category, for exemple. I must say that this wasn't confusing for me, I even had not noticed them Good evening Pulsar33

@afxxi What I wanted to say was that Ubuntu Touch brings back privacy to its users. But privacy doesn't mean that Ubuntu Touch protects you from being spied on. If someone is looking for such thing then we are not the solution. And we won't advertise on what Ubuntu Touch is not... The list is too long. If your claim is UBports is advertising privacy when it is not, then I think it's false. And neither I think we should specify that privacy excludes X,Y&Z because that's not the point. Ubuntu Touch cannot help one to escape a totalitarian regime to spy on their citizens. That is not the goal of UBports. The goal is to give back control over our data and a choice regarding how we manage them.

Nevermind, guys! The above bug with flashing screens is not linked with SSL-certificate. It's some another bug in FluffyChat appeared after a logged out and logged in again. So renewing the certificate solves the issue completely. Thanks.

@loops If I remember correctly the last one was arranged by members of the German UBports group. I have not heard anything this time and know of no plans to do so. If that changes I will let you know.

@fuseteam said in Snap Crackle and Pop! Readwrite rootfs is overrated: When i first heard of ubuntu touch i was pretty excited to see a OS i could be in control of, as i never like how android worked and such. like many the idea of using my phone as a "PC" really fascinated me, especially since at the time i had a laptop with 3GB of RAM and smartphone were beginning to get just as much RAM. you can imagine my disappointment when canonical announced the drop..... +1 my brother! sooo what packages already work? according reports and my own (crude) tests the following packages appear to work: vim nmap htop mc curl tmux tree sshfs NICE! :beaming_face_with_smiling_eyes: Thank you for this awesome tool/project and I will keep an eye on it in the future!

@flohack said in RFCOMM TTY support non available: @pulsar33 we combine the final code that runs in your device out of a common part, our so-called "rootfs" and the Android adaption parts, that is: Kernel, device and vendor tree. Latter were not released by BR (and in turn by Mediatek) so that we could rebuild the kernel, yes, your assumption is true. Thats also the reason why it will be very hard to continue to support this hardware in the future. Can you give me a link with a explanation of the way these things are related to one another ? I have recently bought a Xiaomi 9T which has some "Not daily useable builds" for : Jolla Sailfish Ubuntu Touch Via Hybris and GSI ports somehow but I can't get either one of them to run so I want to know what the heck I am doing wrong... Flashing the Stock ROM (any version) and TWRP afterwards is no issue at all

@kameshbhai32 hello and welcome to the forum Basicly it is that simple if you use Firefox trough libertine - but you have to try only once to understand why it is not reasonable idea (on Ubuntu Touch with mobile device). User experience with UT with desktop Firefox is absolutely torture. That is the reason why login sync is not that easy to achieve. On Ubuntu Touch you have to have mobile optimized (or convergence) software. And my post idea was to tell how you can do it with current working software solutions.

Hotspot cannot be solved for all devices in the same way, this is an implementation detail of the vendor and early UT versions had kinda good solution for it, but starting with Halium 7.1 things became more complicated. This needs proper adressing of the Android bits and as long nobody takes care of that it will be hit or miss....
