@keneda I had just posted the battery tests there and I hope that he would be kind enough to create a data on/off script if it is even possible. 4G data on: [image: 1638308497040-badtest.jpg] 2G data on: [image: 1638308517315-2gbatest.jpg] 4G data off: [image: 1638308537118-batest.jpg]

@vandys said in Back using Touch on my Nexus 5 after long absence: Hello, fellow ubports enthusiasts. I was away (from the forum, and from using ubports) for quite a while. Refreshed my Nexus 5, and wow! This OS is smooth, attractive, and the Morph browser is handling all of my different web sites quite handily. I see so many articles on what doesn't work. I just thought a big picture perspective on the tremendous successes of this project was appropriate. Thanks, team! I did the same basically, except I run a Pixel 3a, Was hoping my Pixel 5 would run UT as its a well equipped device.

I noticed quite a lot of progress made with porting the Lenovo X606 tablet. I currently have a Volla phone daily driver and have a de-googled Lenovo X606-F Tablet for general web surfing, hoping to install UT when waydroid is very usable. Its currently my only remaining android device and there are a few android apps I rely on so waydroid is a big factor in when I switch. I'd definitely love to switch to UT at some point. I bought the Lenovo X606F new in last years black Friday sales for 150 GBP and have been very pleased with the quality, especially the very clear screen and battery life. They seem to typically sell for around 200 GBP new . This is not a request for more progress on the Lenovo X606F or waydroid. I greatly appreciate the hard work being done. I just thought it was worth saying in my opinion it would be great value-for-money choice as a UT tablet and I believe the porting is fairly complete so this could be a great way forward once it has installer support.

Neither does my Nexus 5 on Stable channel, yet text notifications work. I guess it is inherent in the messaging application.

Hi @mw4jet Bluetooth is a bit rough around the edges. For some devices it might work fine, for others not so much. The user experience seems to vary depending on the phone used and the BT device connected to it... Hopefully the move to 20.04 will bring a newer version of bluez and a better support of devices...

@applee Darkmode is also an a11y feature, I don't use it myself because it messes with my eyes, but there are people that can't use lightmode applications. Especially true when looking at the screenshot with "For everyone" header

@ghostedoften1986 Thank you. What are you interesting in developing? An app? If so, maybe a good place to start reading is here: https://docs.ubports.com/en/latest/appdev/index.html

Hi @emphrath I don't know about the specific way you described. But it is possible to download the click file from the Open-Store. You can back them up somewhere in order to recover them later.

Hi @bezjosh99 What do you intend to do ? Flash and HTML5 are two different technology so I don't think you can. But everything is possible so if you're willing to do the job you might get there...

@ublique said in Administering the router and firewall on your phone while usb tethering.: So @pulsar33 could you briefly outline the steps for an average linux user to get your Libertine container set up and working? Anything would be helpful. So, the OP was not Libertine specific and this was only one suggest on which I bounced. Well, I'm afraid not to have as many knowledge as you expect but I hope to be an average Linux user For the Libertine part, I think that what I will say would be in a better place in the Libertine category. So, I will just insert a link here pointing to Gently setup a Libertine container and some applications For the main subject, I thought at the begining that you wanted a graphical management of the communications displayed on the phone while your laptop were accessing the internet through usb tethering. Reading your further developments, it seems that you prefer a GUI on laptop side. I think that some people have a better knowledge than me to guide you this way. BR Pulsar33

@cibersheep : you're right, I undestand now and yes I see the arrows for the threads which were moved to Libertine category, for exemple. I must say that this wasn't confusing for me, I even had not noticed them Good evening Pulsar33

@afxxi What I wanted to say was that Ubuntu Touch brings back privacy to its users. But privacy doesn't mean that Ubuntu Touch protects you from being spied on. If someone is looking for such thing then we are not the solution. And we won't advertise on what Ubuntu Touch is not... The list is too long. If your claim is UBports is advertising privacy when it is not, then I think it's false. And neither I think we should specify that privacy excludes X,Y&Z because that's not the point. Ubuntu Touch cannot help one to escape a totalitarian regime to spy on their citizens. That is not the goal of UBports. The goal is to give back control over our data and a choice regarding how we manage them.

Nevermind, guys! The above bug with flashing screens is not linked with SSL-certificate. It's some another bug in FluffyChat appeared after a logged out and logged in again. So renewing the certificate solves the issue completely. Thanks.
