@kevafc No. There is point where it was exactly what it was "meant to be," especially given designs were still changing when Canonical stopped development of the phone and such. The purple version you're talking about was not on any Ubuntu Edition phones, no. It was very early pre-release designs. You cannot get it.

@ezze You can come a long way with QML and JavaScript. As an example, the navigation app uNav is written solely using those technologies.

@Flohack I think that it's the correct behaviour when you first get the OS, but perhaps eventually, there could be an option to hide it.

@Mic_ I suppose this will only apply to devices released after the specified date. And also only in Germany (or perhaps also EU if it gets pushed up to that level). But longer warranty or support periods don't mean that stuff will get released as open source at the end (or that even if it does, that the license will let you do anything with the source).

@mooncosmique Hi, This device is not supported by UBports (https://devices.ubuntu-touch.io/) and the link you gave is from Canonical... I'm no expert but many changes occured since that era and I cannot expect this procedure to work with the latest versions of Ubuntu Touch. Wait a bit for a more insightful answer.
