@slowcyclist There is a bug report which I found later. This is supposed to be fixed now, however, it is not for me. Just sits with Server Stopped forever. I don't see how I can disable and restart the service if you can't get past "Server Stopped" to get to the menus. Seems a clean install of the app would likely fix it, but how? Is there some way to "purge" click packages; as in, remove all the configuration files when you remove them? I'm thinking it may just be easier to have a list of packages, find out how to backup my contacts, call history and messages then wipe clean? Is there some information on doing that? Maybe an app or something built into UT to do that would be nice.

@foxx This is getting very off topic, politics are not that related to the issue. I never said that you cannot use your camera, it just has to be interfaced through Halium. You can quickly make an app with Qt that captures frames from the camera, and maybe use the Qt Networking framework to broadcast.

Hi @Luksus. I never found the FF3 with UT to be quite snappy enough. The possibility of Waydroid on the FF5 is a major plus. It's disappointing that can't use the higher resolution or 2nd camera.

@kristatos There are understandably some errors at the beginning of 24.04-1.0. When is the next release supposed to come out? That would be 24.04-1.1? Greetings Charly

@smobilesoft Well... I have the same phone. I am not a porter and I apologize to them (or invite them to correct me) for the shortcuts used. I have unlocked it, install the needed ROM to be compatible with UT port. The UT port interacts with an abstraction layer called Halium. There is a version of Halium for each version of Android 9, 10, 11, 12, etc. Halium interacts with the low-level Android drivers that are left in place when UT is installed and Android is replaced. The port therefore expects to have very specific drivers (those of the recommended version of Android). Each ROM contains a number of partitions that are either left in place, replaced, or modified. Altering these partitions (or using a non-compliant ROM that has other partitions) can therefore result in a system that cannot receive UT or anything else at all. You can experiment, and it may be beneficial to you and to others who are in the same situation or not. When the device is unlocked and the ROM joyeuse_global_images_V12.0.3.0.QJZMIXM is in place, installer can resize the needed partitions via [image: 1760128909183-bead290c-af62-4237-82e9-9d1ff28cf229-ut-install-checkbox.png] /home/jll/UBT/4Install/UT install checkbox.png

@arubislander I followed your path (Android 11 -> UT 20.04) and it feels a lot better now in terms of battery lifetime, random shutdowns etc, so thanks a lot for that! The phone call quality is still a bit mediocre but no disconnections and no weird artifacts/noises, so better on this problem too! Thanks for helping!

Hi again, I flashed Android 11 and UT 20.04 after that and I am really happy for now. I switched on WiFi and 2G only, no other connections. The battery went from 89% to 86% within 7 hours, so that is very okay for me. Check! Thanks everyone for helping! greetz Chev Chelios

@Charly Snap doesn't make sense for these small standalone utilites. Also fdisk doesn't exist as snap and rsync packages are only some outdated third party programs, which I would never install.

Ok, this was what I didnt understand, that I have to install Molly in the waydroid container. Done! Thanks a lot for helping me! Now I can (nearly*) leave the android universe and move to Ubuntu touch. *"nearly" because of the waydroid container

Just a quick question: anyone knows if there is a particular difficulty to build Signal-desktop (Electron app) as a .click package? Because this would be a major addition to Ubuntu Touch. Knowing that Mobian have binaries and build scripts for ARM ( https://github.com/0mniteck/Signal-Desktop-Mobian ) (And after we could certainly tweak the interface to make it responsive, like it is done on whatsapp web which is a very similar interface.)

I've installed "Waydroid files" app and Can access the files (runs well under 24.04)

I found a solution: The private DNS must be disabled, and the network connection needs to be restarted.

99% certain this has something to do with waydroid. I get it all the time on fp4, but only after i used waydroid. Is there an open issue somewhere on gitlab?
