Yes. Thanks for the OTA-5 security updates. And since I'm sick of the crazy Volla, I'll totally reflash it to see if that improves things

RE: [How-To] Record Calls
Hello @Br1 . If you have kept some, can you confirm if your .wav recordings under xenial are played normally (sound quality) under focal ? THANKS .

RE: 'crazy Volla'
Since yesterday, the screen freezes very often. No more explanation.

RE: Are there any privacy issues if we choose a phone from Google like the Google Pixel 3a/3a XL?
@arubislander said in Are there any privacy issues if we choose a phone from Google like the Google Pixel 3a/3a XL?:
Security fixes from upstream Ubuntu are rolled in on every OTA. And should there every be a serious vulnerability that the theme feels puts UT users at risk, the release of the OTA would be pushed forward as much as possible
Agreed for OTAs and i expect for (serious) vulnerabilities. What I say in comparison in my case which has a laptop running Ubuntu 20.04 (compared to UT 20.04), is that the security updates seem very regular to me.

RE: Are there any privacy issues if we choose a phone from Google like the Google Pixel 3a/3a XL?
Point of view of non-specialists: for any smartphone (under UT or others), the flaws (or entry) can be in the kernels, in Ubuntu itself, or in the apps. And there are necessarily flaws already found or to be discovered for those who want to find them (if the person is well-intentioned, they will point them out). Generally speaking, it seems to me that UT is not widespread enough (unlike Android) for hackers to spend a ton of energy hacking smartphones running UT. It is obvious that if there was regular periodic monitoring of security patches like in Ubuntu, that would be a plus.

RE: Is there a decent text editor for Ubuntu Touch (part II)?
There was a real light word processor under xenial: https://open-store.io/app/lightp.collaproductions (Nicolร s Colla) which was very popular but which has not evolved. I don't know to what extent this program still works.

RE: Is there a decent text editor for Ubuntu Touch (part II)?
@Peter-Gamma The best text editor (it isn't a word processor !) for UT is Tedit https://open-store.io/app/tedit.danfro currently.

RE: No MMS with Wifi ON
@Timespansoul MMS can't be sent when wifi connected to a hotspot and cellular data (SIM card) of the the Volla is off : seems normal to me.
When cellular data is on (SIM card) and wifi is on, but not connected to a hotspot, MMS sent and receive to myself. Works too when wifi connected to the hotspot as i said before.

RE: No MMS with Wifi ON
@Timespansoul messaging app using wifi connected to an hotspot.

RE: No MMS with Wifi ON
I send a MMS to myself with my focal Volla with wifi ON. it's ok.

RE: Ubuntu Touch on Volla Phone Quintus?
@jojumaxx We will have to wait for the very next kickstarter campaign to respond. Because this smartphone would be under halium 14, therefore a new challenge for UT if it were done.
Edit : It's much less than unlikely and more than likely

RE: Nord N100 No Charging Info on Lock Screen
@Timespansoul I know only this : For the battery charge level, you must activate the battery indicator in UT TT (OpenStore)

RE: New VollaPhone incoming : Quintus
It's nice to have a new UT smartphone but currently users are especially impatient to have an up-to-date browser : having a Ferrari without an engine is alas not very useful..

@Plarde add epub format possible?

RE: Annotate - app to annotate PDF files
@Plarde Hello and thank you again.
I started doing some tests. Your app is very promising. But, I admit, I am sometimes a little lost in the actions I take and the result obtained. This is why I would limit currently myself to a general remark: could you include a short notice on how to generate this or that action and the result that we can expect from it. I just suggest that you explain (by references? bubbles?) what is worth explaining. Sincerely. -
RE: Browser limits phone usability
Maybe that changed on 20.04.
I would like to be very sure that you are on 20.04, because 16.04 is the worst for the browser now.
A solution: I see you have two Vollas. In this case, to not use waydroid, use one Volla under Volla OS to have updates browsers, another under UT.

RE: Browser limits phone usability
@jojumaxx said in Browser limits phone usability:
For me the browser is the most important app on the phone and I can't keep going like this.
A powerful and fully functional browser on a smartphone is fundamental for all users

RE: Annotate - app to annotate PDF files
@Plarde I haven't tested it seriously yet but personally, I appreciate the fact that you are developing a new office app, a sector to be strengthened for UT.

RE: Recommendations to announce a new app
@Plarde Hello. I don't see what would prevent you from presenting your app, work, on the forum. Other developers have already done this, for example see https://forums.ubports.com/post/77871 . On the contrary, it allows you to debate points for improvement, raise bugs and discuss the points you want.
