    • RE: android 14 shipped with new FP5, do I need to move to 13?

@RJDan I don't have a Fairphone 5, but on the devices page for the Fairphone 5
https://devices.ubuntu-touch.io/device/fp5/ , it is said that on "see how to install UT" :
"Your device must be running the Fairphone OS version of Android 13 before installing another operating system. With a previously installed custom ROM, it won't work! "

But yes, wait a confirmation of the procedure of somebody who flashed UT on Fairphone 5...

@ChromiumOS-Guy Thank you to you and @Fuseteam . It is good to realize in a concrete way all the investment time that this requires voluntarily to obtain an app which will make great service to all. It takes a lot of skills of course, but also above all a lot of passion for that.

And this comment is of course valid for all developers who spend number hours to develop apps for UT.

@ChromiumOS-Guy Just to account for the investment: how many hours of work did it take you from 0 to reach 0.7.16?

      @ChromiumOS-Guy Hello.

      First tests V O.7.15 (OpenStore) on Volla 22 Focal OTA-9 :

      • First the browser starts normally and does not crash, which is already very promising!

      • The keyboard does not always go up, especially noticed when I switch from one tab to another.

      • The drop-down menus are not always unfolding.

      • Copy / paste is non-functional and it lacks.

      • I do not see an icon uBlock Origin which allows access to actions on web pages, for example blocking certain elements.

The parameter subdivisions mark is too wide on the Volla 22.

Overall, I have a very positive impression for such a young version. 👍 So well done, nice work !

      Hello.
      For everyone use :

You have specified the installation process. Can you specify the GitHub's uninstallation process: I would like to know if everything that was brought during the installation is well uninstalled in UT Tweak Tools use (Clearing Cache, Config, Data and Desinstalling App). Or if there are other things to do.

Can you specify again what you have to do when going from one .Click to the other.

      Thanks in advance

@ChromiumOS-Guy Thank you for your clear explanations. I imagine that in time, you will do everything to make this browser as sure as possible. In any case, your initiative is praised by all.

    • RE: uWolf (LibreWolf)

First, a big thank you for the development of this new browser. There is such a lack of a functional browser that we cannot even go to Github currently.

I must admit that I have not yet tried on my daily phone Volla 22, waiting for the at least a beta or stable version in the OpenStore. But thank you for the future.

Only one question for the moment : is the browser secure ? No particular security risk that you have noticed ?

@AppLee I can understand that the aim is not to add too much work if QT 6 is difficult to focal compatible. I just want us to get out of this incorfortable situation from an obsolete browser.

Hello: I'm not sure I understood well for Morph-Browser. Is the new morph with qt 6 reserved for noble or could it also apply to Focal (in the system or in an app of the open-store) in the case where noble would not be mature quickly for a first ota?

@jojumaxx You mean : jerky, choppy : yes. a little i confirm (it is my daily phone). I think it has always been. But Volla 22 is a little smoother that with the first focal OTAs. But apart from that the Volla 22 works very well. No bugs found. The only problem as for all Focal smartphones is the depreciated browser. And there is nothing to do, except to wait 'noble' to see how the Volla 22 reacts.

@Charly said in Videos can't be read since today's core apps updates.:

With my Volla x23 (ota-8), I can no longer record videos since today's update of the photo app.

      Works on Volla 22

Maybe a coincidence. The problem resolved after turning off and turning on the Volla nearly for some time. Indeed, it happens quite frequently that the videos are not recognized and are poorly loaded. I noticed that on Volla, volla 22, BQ with xenial..

      Hello.
I did all the today's updates of core apps with OpenStore app and now i can't start and read any videos on my Volla 22 OTA-8.
I don't know where it comes from !

    • RE: Ubuntu Touch Q&A 164 Call For Questions

      Hello..

My feeling, maybe I'm wrong is that some UT users wonder what are the models of smartphones, with which version of halium, are of the future and will support both Noble and Volte, including for the Volla. ... And if they will have to buy again a new smartphone.

I only understood that the Fairphone 5 is a safe bet: is it well with Halium 13 when sold now with Android 14? Is there an official post (or will have ?), full procedure, to flash Noble on Fairphone 5, when we are or not on halium 13 ? Is it possible or sure that Fairphone 5 will be sold with UT (Noble) ?

Can you clarify the supporting models (which will quickly support) Noble and Volte with the corresponding halium, including for the Volla?

Thank you and good luck for the mass of work that all the developers make for the transition to noble and the volte support.
