OnePlus6TSingle issue?
For all us OnePlus 6T aficionados, many are familiar with the fact that different versions of the 6T have different SIM slots. My question is: will the installer still work if I just choose OnePlus6T manually in the installer, or is this warning a real thing?

RE: Restore Bricked OnePlus 6T on Linux
@mrt10001 With the 6T it can often "look" bricked. Hold for bootmode as long as you humanly can, and when you can hold no more it should turn on.

@wgarcia I was just suggesting it if you liked email groups

RE: How to display wirelessly on oneplus one ?
@liutaoabab I'd ask @TotalSonic on this one, because I haven't set up wireless yet, but that doesn't appear to be the type of adapter I mentioned but a different one. I could be wrong.

RE: Funding with Internet Freedom Fund.
@bolly Not to get political, but about the OTF.... https://www.mintpressnews.com/the-open-technology-fund-makes-privacy-apps-staffed-spies/279147/
How much money is the foundation short?

RE: Use Mattermost instead of Telegram to discuss about UT
@cliffcoggin I like the Forum and it works fine.

RE: Video calls, what current solutions
@lakotaubp On Element you need a Matrix account. You also need a sufficiently sized screen or to hold it sideways. Once you are in an Element chat the video and phone options are on the top right.

While VoLTE is a worry, video calling working is actually a BIG DEAL
Reading this made me a little sad, because two more months would have meant video calling would likely have been enabled. I don't know if the established messaging apps have enabled this yet but just in-browser is a huge deal.
I switched to LineageOS on my OnePlus One when it became clear that family just preferred using video calling. And just as my patience with the Google ecosystem had been tried and I was about to go back, my service provider announced the end of 3G. So I bought another 6T, and today put UT back on my OPO.
What a shock to make a video call in Element and have it work so smoothly. While we may be somewhat limited by network restrictions, there's a world of possibilities now I can explore with this personal minisupercomputer of mine. Shoot. I could test Google Voice on it. (EDIT: nope. Mic is greyed out. Odd, but may be a Google thing.)
Progress is happening, so upward and onward (and once VoLTE is resolved, my 6T is coming right back.)

RE: Video calls, what current solutions
@domubpkm You can always make a site into a webapp. Currently I use the Element webapp (app.element.io) and tested video calling on it today. (I use it sideways to get max usability out of it). Works great.

RE: Does One +1 support VoLTE?
@rohitpatil This hurts to write because I had to buy yet another OP6T when I did the research. The answer is basically "no". Although the OPO has the physical architecture to handle some 4G bands, it can't handle VoLTE and no OS does it.
If 3G will still be available where you are, your phone should be fine. Unfortunately, for AT&T customers (in the US at least) it won't work at all.
Unless they just lied and the phone will work fine on Feb 22.

RE: I have ended my contract with the UBports Foundation
@unisuperbox Selfish question but does this mean we won't have the videos? I really like the videos
Anyway, take care and enjoy all the time to decompress that you can

RE: I Need Help Understanding VoLTE and Touch
@rocket2nfinity I thought the 20.04 upgrade would upgrade ofono, which then would work with VoLTE?

RE: Ubuntu Touch Q&A 114 Saturday 18th Dec At 19:00 UTC
Does my question from last time about 20.04 and ofono make it onto this one

RE: Q&A 113 Blog And Audio Available Now
@lakotaubp I was referring to VoLTE, which is the majority of the 4G spectrum. Ofono in 20.04 can handle it. In other news, my OpO is going to be sunsetted in February, which will make this a nice portable computer, but it's time to upgrade.

RE: Q&A 113 Blog And Audio Available Now
@ubportsnews question about the last show. It mentioned that work is progressing to 20.04 and components like ofono (fingers crossed)-- does this mean 20.04 upgrade will be 4G capable (or 4G testing?)

RE: Mobile provider recommendations
@techstuff I'm sure PureTalk would be OK but they are sunsetting 3G in February and keep sending warnings that this phone's time is over. Waiting for the final bell.
