@Alain This featute isn't in UT/Lomiri yet. Simplest way is to make something like a home screen app and there are some that exists already like Launcher Modular. Not sure they have app groups though. You can contribute to them if you don't want to make your own. However, they obviously act like a normal app. Best you can do is pin it to the Launcher for easy access. Or you can contribute to Lomiri and implement it in the App drawer which definitely needs some love There's even a bounty for it so there's money to get

Hi Zaito, so sorry for delay, I have only just logged on in ages. I tested it on GS5 only - installed UT 24.04 because it was the only way to make phonecalls when 3g packed up. Nothing I did enabled Waydroid to persist. Meaning that if waydroid was closed for any reason, you couldn't reboot it without a completely fresh installation. This rectified in June with a new UT update. Everything works well in both UT and Waydroid with one exception; there is no clipboard on waydroid. Which means you cannot copy or paste anything in any circumstances. If I need waydroid copy facilities I have to use another phone running UT20.04. Hope all is well.

@TOTOleHero said in How to use USB card (OTG) on Ubuntu touch?: I want to use a USB sound card with Ubuntu touch ... There have been no successful attempts reported to do what you are trying. Something about missing drivers or such. If you have the time and desire to dive into it, you could try. My first guess would be to see of the card works on a PC installed with Ubuntu 20.04. And then try to find out what packages provide the necessary parts to get it to work. If it is a built in kernel module, then it might be a dead end for now.

Update. All this was tested as of yesterday. And no changes. Additionally my software was up to date. Good news. about an hour ago I notice a new software update. I applied the update, it installed, and rebooted. I have not tested turning off the wifi and retest, sense the update. I tried just now and the text cam through. At least I have a work around now. That's convenient an update was available today. where a few days ago I tried an update and it returned with, there are no updates available. Thank you for the reviews and feedback.

@Dave a quick check shows that the current server certificate for that site was issued on October 11th and is valid until Jan 2024. Could you check if the date and time is set correctly on your family member's device?

Tap with 3 fingers to toggle the side-stage. Drag app with 3 fingers to move them between the side-stage and the main stage.

@nibzy26 said in NFS Mount touch phone: Gossh this is frustrating What is your end aim here? Is it to make some personal customizations or are you looking to contribute these back to the project? Because if it is the latter then you might want to start a dialog with the UX Team and increase the probability that your changes will be accepted.

@Rinkeby Thanks for the answer, I am currently struggeling to solve a problem on my Pinephone. I have installed postmarketOS on it and Abiword. But Abiword cannot write to the external SD card. I want to store and edit Abiword files on the external SD card to be able to pull out the SD card from the phone an stick it into my Ubuntu PC: I am almost there to do this on my Pinephone, exept that I have not yet the permission to write Abword files on my Ubuntu PC to the SD card with postmarketOS: My question is, can I do this with the Voila phone as well? Install Abiword on the external SD card, pull the SD card from the phone, stick it into a Ubuntu PC, to furhter process Abiword files there?

@nibzy26 said in error building lomiri calculator app: @arubislander Thanks seems like every step is a new task. Anyway I created my own icon png and named it as lomiri-calculator-app.png and deleted the original file. Then i changed version in CMakeList.txt , to 4.0.3 installed it but the app icon is still the default one. Do I have to do additional steps to show my own app icon ? 2. SO everytime I make a small change I have to increment the version in the CMakeList.txt file ?? Please advise Thanks humm, no need to update version each time. does this image have the same name than in the desktop file ( see Icon key iirc)

@UTdroid Hello, UTdroid, as @zubozrout wrote, the list on the UBports site with 21 supported devices (today and with the Focal OS version) is the best source to check compatibility with Ubuntu Touch. I was making the same decision as you a year ago. Phones marked with an asterisk should be the safest option, as I understand they are strategic for the community. But for me all of them were hard to buy or simply I did not like them technically (maybe I was wrong). In the end, I chose the Redmi Note 9 Pro. The argument was high progress of implementation of full functionality (98.2% now). And it was a good move - the device works great and I am happy with it. Probably, regardless of your final decision, there is no 100% certainty that the specific port will be maintained, but it is natural for open community. Make your good choice and have fun with Ubuntu Touch
