@hlbkv gnome software can handle debs and flatpaks (and on Ubuntu also snaps I think). The app itself is a deb, so it is not surprising that it can be installed. The apps that end up being able to be installed with it are probably also debs.

Just an update, I gave up on trying the KDEConnect workaround. I did some deep investigation on resolving the issue within Waydroid itself, and documented my progress. It's definitely a feature-request in Waydroid. https://github.com/waydroid/waydroid/issues/211 I haven't done any more work on it for a while, since my last post on github. There are a few libs being used in Waydroid, which I linked to, which have sparse documentation. I don't have deep enough knowledge of these languages and platforms to be able to fix this easily - not to mention android's workflow for builds. Wasn't able to do a build of LineageOS on my PC; some incompatibility with package versions. It'd be nice to resolve this for everybody who uses Waydroid, but IRL is taking priority for now.

@nikhilbhalwankar Short answer: no Long answer: https://wiki.ubports.com/wiki/Release-Channels The Current Channels 15.04/stable This is the channel you should be on if you're unsure of which to pick. It's the slowest-moving and most vetted release channel. 15.04/rc This channel is a good mix between stability and bleeding edge. We will promote builds to rc from devel when they are possible candidates for stable. This channel should not break, but we can't promise as stable as stable. 15.04/devel This channel will break. If you're working on QA, this is the place to be. If you're trying to use your Ubuntu Touch device in your life, this is not the place to be. Nightly builds from our CI server get pushed straight into 15.04/devel. When they are deemed as candidates for Stable (which only happens after we enter a feature freeze), they are moved to 15.04/rc Again, we do not recommend 15.04/devel for everyday use.

@jumbs said in Use USB as serial port on OPO: Do I understand correctly, that compiling a Kernel with the required driver linked into the Kernel, means, compiling on seperate computer starting from source code, and loading a new ROM on the OPO? yes

@shargar You can try to do this: Go to Contacts, select a contact by holding it, then you will be able to select it. Click on the check box at the top right and select all contacts. Then click on the "share" symbol and select from the "File Manager" sharing options (if you do not have the application, You can install the app). Choose where to save the vcf file. Then send it by telegram and open it in the new phone.

@rndevfx Nice findings. Looks like a good idea to put in a new issue for FP2. https://wiki.ubports.com/wiki/UBports-Bug-Trackers

@wgarcia Thanks for moving the discussion, but most of these issues are already reported on GitHub and I reported them here somewhere already some time ago. LED: https://github.com/ubports/ubports-touch/issues/48 A bit cumbersome to frequently enable the screen to see if there's a missed notification. The blinking green LED like the BQ would be great. Call volume: https://github.com/ubports/ubports-touch/issues/137 This can get very troublesome when there's some background noise in the room. Sometimes it's almost impossible to hear the other person properly. Beep: https://github.com/ubports/ubports-touch/issues/49 Just a small annoyance, although the beep can be very loud depending on where you are :-). WiFi disconnects: I'll have to describe it properly and submit a bugreport This is a big issue for me. When the extender has stronger signal than the router, the phone disconnects and wants the password again. This means I can't move around the house without getting disconnected all the time (30+ times/day). The BQ would just seamlessly switch over. I see you even have issues without extender. After disconenction it should just autoconnect without requiring a password again (it is saved already!).

It would be good to be able to modulate the vibrator power, since i cannot remove vibrator for SMS notification (on my pro5), i only have choice between "sound and vibrate" and "only vibrate". So allways vibrator on even if i put all the parameters i see without vibration ... This is the case since i move to ubports, with ubuntu touch from canonical i could reduce the level of vibration or remove it if i remember well.

@vandys, you can try to play with loadkeys, dumpkeys and showkeys in the terminal. https://superuser.com/questions/290115/how-to-change-console-keymap-in-linux I don't know for the graphic session though. Maybe there's some template somewhere but I didn't investigate it yet.

I did it manually with the steps from the documentation. I did not wanted more problems with the outdated Ubuntu on my wife's laptop. All my other laptops and netbooks run FreeBSD. I'm happy now having one of my BQ E4.5 flashed to UBports and know that this was more easy then expected. This means that there is some kind of future for my devices and having an Open Source mobile. Thank you all for this! matthias

@janvi Thanks. Have found some detailed instructions on using sp tool on a bq phone, so will follow those and check as I'm doing it. Think its something I'm doing when trying to use the terminal commands to get it running.

@lnxsr said in UT on Nexus 10: "This phone needs restoring from a PC or service center." I got that error message on my Nexus 4 back then when Canonical developed Ubuntu Touch. The solution was my usual solution to delete the local cache and run again. Your case is different since you use the MD Tool to install, but that tool seem to have similar problems when the cache gets corrupted. I would therefore suggest to remove the cache and run MD Tool again. To remove the cache you do: rm -fr ~/.cache/ubuntuimages
