@freddo
I see that files on system-image.ubports.com are stored with digital signatures, so, the situation is better here, but still requires implementing mechanism of choosing mirrors in installer software. I'll take a look at that soon. Thanks
@Sentinel said in No GPS access from inside Waydroid:
maybe the MIUI version I flashed might have impacted Waydroid's reliability or other things?
Yes — this can significantly affect UT.
The MIUI image version to use is specified in the installation guide under "2. Check the correct version of MIUI", and it looks like you used the correct one.
I can't explain the unusual bugs you've reported.
Did you remount the system as read-write and make any changes?
Did you use apt (update/upgrade/install)?
I'm fine with starting a new discussion thread.
note to self: RTFW (i.e. rtf wiki) before posting ... the bug trackers are listed at https://wiki.ubports.com/wiki/UBports-Bug-Trackers/da00bef and my 'bug' was already listed here https://github.com/ubports/notes-app/issues/2
@bq4.5 Hmm, that's very odd as I've often used UT Tweak Tool to remove eBay, Amazon and other scopes when I was still on Canonical images. Unfortunately I have no idea about the torch - but I would consider writing the author of that indicator in case there is an easy fix.
@guru I installed An ubuntu VM on my debian.
I tried from the VM it itook much longer and it worked!
I'm passing from r1 to r2 at the moment.
My debian was involved thus!
Thanks for the help
I recently had a hell of a game trying to flush my Ubuntu Touch M10 to UBPorts. Nothing seemed to help. What are you using the MDT?
I installed another version of the MDT which installed a clean version of Touch. I then was able to install UBPorts from the Install using system-image server on the UBPorts > M10 > Core Device site.
I just reinstalled using the latest method after OTA-2 and the sounds now all work properly. Early days and I haven't tested anything yet, but I hope to now put it into daily use and will track how things work.
@UniSuperBox My machine with the USB cable was headless, thus the confusion. There needs to be a distinction between CLI and GUI install options, I guess. Thanks.
@Grisen I will try to summarize / condense this thread into one or more tickets, but yes just put it there to have a wider audience, and also you get updates for the thread then
After installing the new dev file manager, both .MOV and .mp4 plays, but it's all in pink color.
Any ideas what i should try now? I liked it better before when only .mp4 was played, but properly.
