@bearbobs sorry for the late reply its been busy with work...did you have to host the emulationstation?....because not sure how to host from within a clickable.....Iv seen the project before but have not really done anything with it....if it runs totally client side its do able....but if it needs hosting I don't think it can be done....the nes I'm working on is a heavily modded JavaScript emulator runs totally client side i added touch support fixed up the audio and added a lot of mapper support.....one big issue is the webview out of the box is....well lacking...if you load mario you will see black squares around the clouds and other sprites...not the emulator but the webview....

Problem solved. I disabled uBlock Origin for the site and it started working. As far as I recall I have always had uBO enabled as I turn it on for everything, and it is not something I alter on a daily basis, so I wonder if the site has changed.

Well, sshd just wasn't running. For some reason, android-gadget-service didn't actually do anything. I've started sshd manually by running sudo /etc/init.d/ssh start and it works. Info I've gathered when trying to determine if it's running: I've run sudo lsof -i -n -P | grep LISTEN on the phone to know if port 22 is open, but it wasn't in the output, which means nothing is listening on it. Then I've run sudo ps aux | grep ssh and no matter if ssh is enabled or not it reports process from /usr/bin/ssh-agent /usr/bin/dbus-launch --exit-with-session ubuntu-touch-session command to be in the interruptible sleep (Ss in the STAT column). It doesn't report anything else, except grep --color=auto ssh due to results being filtered by grep. Now, as I started it, the output also contains /usr/sbin/sshd -D -o PasswordAuthentication=no.

@kaveman I don't know if proton vpn works for your phone as i don't know (see) the name of your phone but proton vpn works on every smartphone i use(d) : OPO, BQ E5 HD, BQ 4.5, NEXUS 5, the tablet BQ M10 and my daily driver Volla phone currently. Read carefully and apply the procedure of this thread and it should work unless there is something that makes your smartphone incompatible.

@joão-fornaza With Xiaomi you have to use a Windows PC and use the Mi Flash tool to flash back to stock ROM. Word of warning with Xiaomi, DO NOT LOCK the bootloader once it is unlocked. You have a great chance of bricking the device.

OK. So I'll have to make do with adding an image onto the phone and setting it as the background/wallpaper. This lets me see how much the image is cropped. I can then edit the image on my PC to add the text box whilst looking at the image on my phone's background to GUESS a position that will not get cropped. I can then export the image as a jpeg, send it to my phone and set as background. Not the best but it works.

@bobalex70 the problem lies in that the apps do not understand the CIFS (Samba) protocol. For playing media on your devices, you would be better served by installing Jellyfin or Emby or some other light weight media software on a server if available. And installing the Jellyfin client on your device, or the Emby client if Jellyfin doesn't work on your device.
