@mariogrip said in Issue priorities - basic phones features shouldn't be the first ?: We are moving to newer version of pretty much every part of the system, this is a major work. Once we have done the major upgrade we will get a lot more time. And in fact we are really close go get to this point, we now are super close to finish all the mir/unity8/libhybris upgrades. And we don't have a big enough team to focus on all the bugs right now as the code may have merge errors to be able to merge with never version and to risk spending lots of time on bugs that might be fixed in newer version. that's why we are upgrading, getting our source aligned with newer sources to then focus on fixing and improving. Is ofonod concerned ?

@domubpkm VPN is already integrated on a system-level in Ubuntu Touch. Unfortunately, tracking is not solely about cookies. Cookies are the simplest way of tracking, but not the only one. Cookies behave like a name badge, which you can choose to wear or remove any time. Fingerprinting based on characteristics like canvas hashes or installed fonts are inherent to the environment of the browser and cannot be changed as easily. This is analogue to your physical appearance. A person who has seen you before can recognize you again even if you have removed your name badge. The group of people using UT is quite small already. User Agent combined with geo ip and screen resolution is probably already enough to distinguish you from every one else on earth. In contrast, Apple hardware is very uniform: same hardware, same OS, few configuration options, only one browser engine. The more diverse your browser is, the easier it is to track. There are two countermeasures: Camouflage the browser to be part of the largest, indistinguishable group of features. E.g. Behave like a desktop chromium. This rather difficult and a sufficiently motivated fingerprinter will probably circumvent this. Detecting and blocking known fingerprinting mechanisms. E.g. @mariogrip uAdBlock can block domains which are known to collect such data. It would be lovely if we had domain-wise JavaScript whitelisting (like NoScript) available on Morph.

I tried convergence over WiFi with my FP2 back with 15.04 and then it was extremely unstable. It worked for 2s or 5s and then the display froze. Since 16.04 it doesn't work at all. Due to some apparmor issue as I understood: https://github.com/ubports/ubuntu-touch/issues/781

Great discussion here! Wayne: "hi, Wayne, how are you doing?" Wayne; "Great thanks, and you?" Wayne: Not bad, man. Not bad. Wayne: "Cool....hmm... where is everyone else? Even Joe?" Wayne: No idea. I think they don't like us. They think we suck. Wayne: Well... we do.. Wayne: Right! That!

@advocatux yes maybe. Not sure that this will pollute too much the supergroup if only new topics are notified.
