To wrap up this topic I went for a Tutanota free account for use on my Nexus 5. It was easy to set up and available within two minutes of creation. If it proves successful I am happy to pay the ludicrously cheap 12 Euros per annum. Incidentally I used the application from the Open Store by Jose M Reyes.

To some extent it depends on the actual goal. Is this intended as a test harness for an app in a controlled environment? Or as a means of automation on a desktop? Faking udev ought to work across different compositors. The virtual keyboard extensions might work for some compositors but different compositors support different protocol extensions. (E.g. Mir supports virtual_keyboard_unstable_v1 but not org_kde_kwin_fake_input.) If this is just for an application test harness, then it should be possible to test against a specific, even a bespoke, compositor. This could be complicated for most people I know as they have employers, and work (especially paid) outside that raises contract concerns. Maybe ask on the wayland-devel mailing list?

@domubpkm said in Openstore : donations: The number of donations received The total amount received (optional but would be informative). The problem is that OpenStore isn't a donations platform itself, and many of us might also list donation links in other places, or also contribute to other things where we receive donations. So it's not easy to classify all the donations.

@josele13 What kind of companies would be interested in an OS that doesn't have a locked bootloader or unencrypted phone rom? In those companies will they see that UT is easier to use than android? Do we have all the android options to be attractive? Will these companies be able to use our country's banks or government apps? Will the employees of these companies be able to make video calls? Will they be able to talk from the car to another employee via bluetooth? Will they be able to pay for food at the bar from their mobile phones? yes these are important questions, but we must've forgo what we can do to make it more attractive for example if there's a missing app, what can we do to convince the app developer or the company behind it to support Ubuntu Touch. if there's a missing functionality what can we do to fix it whether that's ourselves if we can program or by attracting a developers with the skills. so rather than "what makes it attractive to companies?" the question becomes "what can we do to make it attractive to companies?" and by extension "what can we do to move Ubuntu Touch forward?"

It's the American equivalent of the old Soviet Pravda i.e. a US government propaganda system.

@dizzy Not to my knowledge. Anyway, for wich country ? Don't you have some internet services for this purpose ? I.e. in France we have "page jaune". Workaround would be to use webber and make a webapp for it.

@totalsonic Didn't know about the July 1st thing. I believe that the booster acts as a proxy server. I do know that without it calls in or out do not work. Edited my first post. EDIT: AT&T 3G shut down Feb 22 T-Mobile will shut 3G down July 1st and Verizon probably in Dec. EDIT: 3/6/22 OPO sim disabled. XperiaX and Pixel 3a still good. EDIT: 3/15/22. No more calls in or out Pixel 3a or Xperia X. So much for high hopes.
