Hi @jlnxr , Yes Libertine works well for CLI with ARM64 existing packages but GUI apps are not meant for the mobile form factor, you won't have good results with it. Hardware acceleration does not work for the N5 hence poor performances on video reading. That is a known limitation. The scaling of webapps is probably due to the original website or the lack of maintenance of said app. If your experience is based on Facebook, that is something that they do voluntarily to force the use of their dedicated iOS or android apps.

@michaelc Of course it drains more battery we are far behind energy saving features of Android. Thats not gonna change soon I think.

Hi and welcome @rbhawk I moved your post to Devices/Google/Google Nexus 5 It seems your issue is related to this specific hardware and features so a better help may come here. Sorry, I cannot help more as I never tried to cast video signal to another device.

Ive installed ut on nexus 5 several times each phone is different. My tips would be to start with android rom with twrp. Unlocked then use ubports. I use it from snap. But also restarting ur computer. On my nexus 7 i had to be in su on ubports even tho its not recommended. Lol id try alot. Restart, reflash android, use snap package, try several times sometimes it works the fourth time. Also when you do install it and its in the ubunti touch logo it usually stays there for quite some time, pretty sure its still installing. Let it sit there for like 20 min on charger. Thats all i got. I do know u can do manual install but havent had todo that yet

@applee @domubpkm : thank you very much for sharing your experience. This uVideo seems to be new to me, I don't remember there was another movie player than UTmedia and the original Media player, I have to test it ! There is also some issues I meet currently (mainly Nextcloud CalDAV), I think I may post a new thread if I don't succeed to solve the issue. EDIT : I confirm that my videos taken from my camera can be played on uVideo, this app handles .mp4, .webm, and .ogv extensions so that's cool ! I don't know if this app handles subtitles, but with this and support of .mkv, then, it would be a perfect app.

@flohack Yes, I forgot that the rootfs is the same across different halium versions. But I wonder if it still isn't possible, that some components like pulse are used differently. For example, why does it claim, that no pulseaudio deamon is running for ierihon, while it lists sinks for me on bq 4.5 and FP3? And isn't it also about kernel modules for a common audiochip, which could be supported by a newer kernel? Edit: Ah, you said that they do not upgrade the kernel, I thought you was talking about vendor blobs.

@Nigel-tufnel I'm on the same hardware and indirectly using AT&T (an mvno derivative). For the most part, things have been working well for me...data, text, and calls. Not the expert here, but have you confirmed it's actually unlocked? ie: get it to the bootloader and run fastboot oem unlock from your machine? I'm on OTA-16 here and it worked on the build version (from Nov/Dec '20??) before as well.

Yeah, no audio routing at the moment. Someone needs to implement it but so far, external display use cases aren't really a priority.

@kucevac It works fine on my Nexus 5, as you would expect from the most long established phone on Ubuntu Touch. Your problem must surely be the carrier or a setting.

@creuzdos Did you try with dev mode on in uTouch then with adb shell? And alternatively i just saw an other thread that could help you with terminal inside uTouch. I'll quote here : @craig said in How to install PIA VPN on UT (Working!): When running the script, you may get a message that the script was not able to write to /etc/openvpn. If so, do this before you execute the script: sudo -i sudo mount -o remount,rw / sudo chmod 777 /etc/openvpn exit After you run the script, set permission back: sudo chmod 755 /etc/openvpn You could try the chmod 777 with \system folder.

Make sure you have wifi on (as it needed). I get better results on my Arale when I start moving. Edit: I forgot I have my nexu 5 here. It took 8 minutes to get my position (using uNav but I don't think that's relevant)

@applee said in Androïd Kernel version?: That is the right kernel. Ok thanks. @applee said in Androïd Kernel version?: Data works fine with my carrier and APN were automatically detected. APN (from Orange carrier if you know) are atomatically created, but no data (empty bar), although sms work (but nothing to do with data anyway). Maybe something to do with my carrier phone number switch. I'll wait for full migration achieved to see if that works then. EDIT : it works now, it was a switching normal thing.
