@bq4.5 said in mailing list: while reading it, i saw the section about Patreon, so at the end of the paragraph i saw "Learn more at patreon.com/ubports", so i was interested to learn what patreon is or do, so i have clicked on the link and a 404 page had opened https://ubports.com/patreon.com/ubports. Hi, I opened an issue for this here: https://github.com/ubports/ubports.com/issues/27 - you are always free to use our bugtrackers, and in fact we prefer this method - since the forum tends to be hard to follow up. I am sure this issue will be fixed in no time. BR

@wgarcia I've tried to download the map of Spain, and there was an error. It was from jul 2015. I had a copy in a disk and I have used it. I have been able to follow a route from my home to anoher. Perhaps there is a problem downloading a map (not sure). The map is very old, but the size of the directory of spain is 983.5 MB. Very litle. However the app crashes frecuently. There is a lib: libosmscout. This app uses it. The explanation is in http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Libosmscout, but I don't know how to create the maps. The files that gives openstreetmap are *.osm and *.osm.pbf. With them you can make the map for OSMScout.

@Rafale07 We are currently testing already on the new Openstore. Things are coming a good way I think. We´ll improve categories, auto-approval of confined Apps, and the phone App to be really useful. Already now you can even upgrade official Apps if they were put in the Openstore. Try Telegram! There's already a thread about this here: https://forums.ubports.com/topic/216/security-updates-for-ubuntu-phone-to-end-in-june/2 Basically, we will use the OpenStore, an alternative application store for Ubuntu Touch that has already been around for a while. It can already be installed and the most important apps have already been moved over there. It will be improved in future releases to offer easier navigation and better look and feel, but all the basics are already there. The OpenStore will be preinstalled in our future releases. Please continue this discussion in the other thread.

@hairy Yeah, you may be right about the android users, it's not something for everybody. Still, it will be interesting for some people. The price of 60 € that @mariogrip announced at UbuCon is competitive to microsofts Wireless Display Adapter that retails at about 50€, considering the fact that this will be entirely open soft- and hardware. It is a good product idea. It could go well. I think Marius really needs to work on PR, maybe hit some Linux and Android-related shows, talk to bloggers, etc. We have seen crappy ideas succeed on kickstarter and we have seen awesome ideas fail. But this one is most certainly a good idea. The market may be small, but i like to be optimistic! Also, I hope for Canonical to push the project. It certainly doesn't seem like the phones are their top priority at the moment as they are always talking about IoT, Ubuntu Core and snappy, but the phones will profit from the advancements in that field as well. As soon as Unity 8 hits the shelves and the biggest part of the desktop apps are optimized to work with MIR, Ubuntu Touch will be a really interesting platform, both for techies and noobs. Wow, i got a little carried away. I think it came across that i really like this project. I hope it will catch on!
