Hidden channels are a lot more likely to break or be broken compared to devel. They're hidden from users because of that. Usually used by devs to test big things such as for example right now the 24.04 Noble images.

Re: Bootloop on Xiaomi Mi A2 after upgrade from 16.04 OTA -24 to 20.04 OTA -1 If you carry out an upgrade, clean install or have a new install on the Xiaomi Mi A2, this may resolve to issue. The device has two slots, slot a and slot b. When bootlooping, it might be booting to the wrong slot. To resolve try this, it may stop the bootloop: This involves changing the slot, so put the device in fastboot mode. Then attach to a PC with fastboot and ADB installed and open a terminal (Command Prompt) in the fastboot folder. Type in ./fastboot getvar current-slot This will tell you which slot is active. If slot a is active, change it to slot b and vice versa. Use this command: ./fastboot --set-active=a or ./fastboot --set-active=b Reboot the phone and hopefully you will boot into UT.

@sompe Just installed a new 4x. Camera wont work out of the box because of missing permission for camera App. Resolved the issue by Hardreset and deleting Device. Then installed Recorder and gave permission for mic. Waited several Minuts. Then started Camera. Prompt came up asking for permission. Camera Works now. Permissions cant be edited by gui.

I don't have the Redmi Note 7 but the Note 9 Pro. But the storage space was not displayed correctly in Xiaomi's UT anyway. With the predecessor model Redmi Note 9 it was the same with the storage space. However, I always deleted the data completely during a new installation. You can also reset your data with the UT program on the PC without losing it

Miatoll has currently working VoLTE on devel channel, only thing you need it to switch channel and upgrade system, it should be working without any change on SIM 1 when enabled LTE (4G) network, not the other SIM 2 slot

@mrt10001 Hello in airplane mode it does not restart thank you for this idea. It's not the wifi so it's the mobile network that bugs the phone. I tested the sim on my nexus 5 no worries it works. I redid an install without any additional application it does not change anything with or without the RC update. Waydroy restat the phone from time to time if I raise several times. Thanks to you

@katesfb Apologies for the late answer and you may have gotten this resolved by now. However, I'll respond just in case someone else might have the same question in the future. From looking into this a bit further, they should be the same device, so yes, technically it should work. Just to be sure though, I recommend confirming this with the contributor of the Mi A2 to ensure compatibility.

@lepotototor said in Installation on poco m3 failed: @nitanmarcel The poco m3 is build with halium 10 so I flash the recommended rom with android 10 and I use the latest recovery image of miui or the latest of TWRP ? I cannot see what you are trying to achieve. If you use the installer and follow the instructions, you should get a good install. If you don't, it is best to install TWRP, wipe DATA, CACHE and SYSTEM, then reinstall stock (using the MiFlash tool, ensuring you DO NOT relock the bootloader) and then try again with the UT installer. If UT won't install, you have to make sure (using TWRP) that the DATA partition is erased and formatted to EXT4 and NOT F2FS - this will decrypt the DATA partition and allow UT to see it when installing. If UT still fails to install then the device may have had a revision upgrade and might have (annoyingly and unknown) changed hardware like a different manufactured eMMC, Screen, Camera etc, that may stop UT installing. These are some observations where I have had installation issues across a lot of devices. I have avoided flashing devices in the list using the CLI if there is the Installer available for it as without the installer it generally has failed down to my lack of CLI and coding Fu. I have had moderate success with devices not on the installer using the CLI without bricking the device to the point of unusability, an example is the Moto E 2nd gen EXT1524 which seems to be OK(ish) with UT.

@audrew ADB is like a higher level of Fastboot. Basically ( please feel to correct me anyone) fastboot installs a boot image and a recovery image. The boot image allows UT to boot, but you usually have to manually boot to recovery. Once in recovery ADB is then working and the UT install will continue by pushing the UT files over it from the PC to the device. A bad or incompatible USB cable will stop ADB from functioning so no UT install. An encrypted data partition will stop an install and can be flagged as an ADB error, that is why you have to format the data partition to EXT4 and wipe it so it is decrypted. If the partitions have been resized, usually by installing a non stock ROM such as Lineage OS, UT won't install and may give an ADB error. A bad or USB 3 port may cause an ADB error. A PC/laptop may cause an issue for various reasons, if UT won't install on Windows, try a Linux based machine or a MacOS based machine. Try an older installer, the latest Ubports installer may be a bit buggy. Also follow the installation instructions to the letter or the install usually fails. Try a different channel if the stable channel fails to install.

GSMarena POCO M3 review: "The default 12MP photos from the main camera are superb for this class, especially when shot in such challenging weather conditions." "High-resolution 48MP mode is available - but there is no point using it. The 48MP photos are upscaled from 12MP and don't look good." 1 + 2 => no need for 48MP mode in Ubuntu Touch so this thread can be marked as solved.

@shogunmchawa according to the specific page for your device the loudspeakers are not working for this port. Have you tried connecting earphones? Waydroid is supposed to work according to the same page, have you tried with the Waydroid helper app?

Thanks for your ansers. The Redmi 7a has the codename Pine. There is an installation instruction on Youtube for Redmi 7a, but it is very long. Thanks for your detailed explanation. I will try the second video on Youtube which was also helpful. If got also a Poco F1 to flash, which I love for it s usb-c port and because of Joels port. I will definitely become a Ubports and Linux user because of the many Linux phones, Linux AsteroidOS watches and Linux Nano PCs which are available. The time is gone when you had to carry around a Laptop with Matlab for sensor data acquisition .

@thatbloke Some questions : Are you still using this phone with Ubuntu Touch ? Daily usage or just a toy to play around with ? Did you own the phone or did you buy a used one ? If so, please give us some details like : Price/Age/Battery status/Overall condition of the phone. Any idea if there are any reliable replacement batteries available for this phone ?! I have always been a fan of the Xiaomi Mi Mix models so having one as a daily device with Ubuntu Touch on it would be AWESOME!!!

@markus66 I am running on a Poco F1, with OTA-20. Eight hours of very light use (no Bluetooth) reduces battery by 23 %, from 58 % to 35 %. Of course, such values differ due to different battery ages and different usage patterns. If you gave up, you might try again because the Poco F1 is a very well supported device. BTW: Can we please have a device subcategory?

@arcylisz It seems your device is not supported and needs a custom port. There are several versions of Xiaomi note 9 and yours merlinnfc is different from the supported one merlin... Maybe it can be forced to use the merlin port on your merlinnfc but I don't know how and I will advise to tread lightly if you don't know what you're doing. Best of luck.
