DeltaTouch is one of my favorites in the Open Store. It’s the perfect way to replace any messaging app. There are also excellent DeltaTouch apps for iPhone and Android. It’s hard to convince parents and kids to use DeltaTouch. That’s because WhatsApp has integrated “Channels” into its app since 2023. What are “Channels”? They’re kind of like OnlyFans for kids and teens.

@messayisto calls show up and you can respond or hang up, but there’s no audio, so you can’t hear anything and the one on the other side also can’t hear you. So not usable, but it partially works.

@jrgood78 I have had this on other devices after an INCELL screen replacement, more recently a OP 6T. The screen works in Android but not on UT. You could try going back to Android, making sure everything works, then reinstalling UT and see if the screen is picked up. BTW, INCELL is a type of screen that is cheaper and more hard wearing than more expensive OLED screens. They are not as vibrant colour wise than OLED screens and if the fingerprint reader is under the screen, that usually won't work with n INCELL screen replacement.

@wally I have read more carefully your first post and I think we are stuck in the same step. At first I undertood you did not receive the SMS for linking the phone with the Xiaomi account. With all I have read lately I think I got the big picture. I phoned Xiaomi support and I heard them typing looking for a generic and unrelated answer that I had already found by myself. Not a very high service standard. For the SIM activation, MiAccount app sends a SMS. I checked with my carrier that esch try a SMS is sent (and of course, charged), alternatively, to a local mobile number and a local landline. I phoned these numbers and the former does not exist and the latter is disconnected or out of reach. I mailed Xiaomi asking about these numbers. I presume they will say that I must update MIUI, but I am reticent in case it makes more difficult to unlock the bootloader. If they do not provide another way or phone number to send manually the SMS, I think I will have no other option than to update hoping that the correct phone numbers are also updated.

Or, potentially better, change the library/application to read from the UT XDG data-dirs correctly.

i just posted a testing version in app development ....expect bugs ....i expect feedback ....i add the missing features mentioned as well

@libremax This represents a change of direction (as I understand it). Eric H, who is one of the testers, was just as surprised as I was by this announcement. To be continued... I’m not complaining; the Brax3 is a great phone and IodéOS is a great AOSP. I hope the porting can continue (the latest image didn’t allow the phone to be used for making calls).

it will have to basically be a hack UT's confined nature does not allow block usb writes ...yet ...im hoping to change that with "workspace" ....i actually have a iso writer app ready to go already built ....just does not work because UT confinement

Nur als Info. Aktuell ist der OP8T port "auf Eis gelegt". Der lief zwar recht gut unter Focal, aber machte echte Problem mit Noble. Da Focal quasi vom Tisch ist, macht es wenig Sinn einen Port dafür offiziell zu veröffentlichen, der nicht zukunftsfähig ist.

@kristatos a diagnosis has been posted on gitlab A problem understood is half way to be solved they say. So there is hope that 24.04-1.4 will finally kill this beast.

this one i really could use some feedback on as this is one of my favorite projects as well as a staple tool that is intended to make UT more useful ....there are many bugs i know ....i cant figure them out and neither can AI .... until i get more information im basically over here eating my own tail on this project
