@undrwater Which exact model of Nord N10 do you have ? Was it already Factory / Bootloader unlocked, or did you have to go through the Oneplus/T-Mobile bootloader unlock process ? [The Pixel 3A XL I recently bought to install UT on was factory unlocked, and easy install (had to change A12 back to A9, but G Chrome based tool worked very well)]. Also, one of the pages I found lists international version & another in one group, but a separate group - labelled - 'Unsupported' for Nord N10 T-Mobile and N100 Metro-T-Mobile - with slightly different original versions of firmware listed for recovery to OEM. Searching Ebay for BE2026 (North American Factory Unlocked) or BE2029 (international) produced zero results. Searching for 'Factory Unlocked' produced inconsistent results, wherein they repeated 'Carrier Unlocked' next to both Unlock Status, and Carrier Status. Only one listing said 'Factory Unlocked' IN the listing (was highest $$). I would appreciate any suggestions from anyone who has had success with this.

@pparent While I don't have a VP22, I also did the same upgrade on my FP5, I have triggered a similar looking crash by doing more or less cheesy things with the dialer (I did not manage to repro it unfortunately). I could connect to the phone via ssh and to launch top, all the signs of an oom were presents (no more free swap, swap process taking all the cpu time). I did not have the time to do any tests, at this point a Linux system is all but finished. Another symptom was that the phone was unnaturally hot.

@GerhardF You can't lock the bootloader on Ubuntu Touch*, it will brick the device. Your startup message sounds absolutely normal. Can we see a picture of it please? *with a few exceptions but OnePlus isn't one of them

Has this been confirmed? Have you tried just reinstalling again? Do bear in mind if you downgrade from A14 to A13 do not try to relock the bootloader as Android rollback protection kicks in.

@freddo I see that files on system-image.ubports.com are stored with digital signatures, so, the situation is better here, but still requires implementing mechanism of choosing mirrors in installer software. I'll take a look at that soon. Thanks

I will control the condition of test : -the stat of the phone of the friend who send me the messages. and if it works in differents direction. but not this week I will come back for that.

@kugiigi Not a surprise because Oren Klopfer is the guy who has made a lot of work to push UT on pine64 devices and is also behind Rhino linux distro.

@gpatel-fr It's really as simple as, if set to English (Canada): Contact: +15145555555 will reliably be found by prediction once I type +151 Contact 15145554444 will not be found no matter what I type Contact (514)555333 will not be found no matter what I type Other contact formats (514) 555-5555, similarly won't be found. Nothing without the initial +. Anyhow, I'm quite happy about the T9! Many thanks to you for making me aware of it, and for your help in diagnosing things. And many thanks to Lionel for creating the function! My extensive (long-winded) testing was to try to be helpful, but I'm quite satisfied with how things function at present. If the phone number predictions get improved for databases as mangled as mine, and various weird international standards, all the better! But sadly, I don't think I'm the person who will succeed with that.

The others phones that I know of: Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro - sounds like VoLTE is working for people, but band compatibility may not be perfect. Xiaomi Poco X3 NFC - "" Various Volla - "" I've heard of people in USA using all three of these, but you really need to do your research and check with mobile providers. Brax 3 has a UT port that's coming along. Applee has been in touch with them. It seems too early to say though, which is too bad, because they have a December shipment coming along. Similarly Furiphone talked in the past of a UT port, but I haven't heard anything about it in a while. Both of those are explicitly made to work well in USA (among others). Also Fairphone 4 is supposed to have working VoLTE now? There was an ebay seller in USA who was selling Fairphone 4 new. NeverMSRP I believe. Ruben continues to work on VoLTE on the Oneplus Nord N10. Crossing fingers on that. Some people already have good results, but he's clear that it's still wonky so far.

Very nice! I don't use these platforms but it's a very positive gesture. I hope someone wins it who really appreciates it.
