@domubpkm, the app is self-contained, except for config files. Unlike most apps, I've kept the default Librewolf config path at ~/.librewolf. This is the only residual data, and deleting it will prompt uWolf to generate a new profile upon setup.

My experience with Fairphone 5: Bluetooth: Working in my car for receiving and sending calls. Works also connected to a Pebble watch. GPS: Works for me, it takes 10 to 20 minutes to get a fix, in the open air or at the balcony of my place (1st floor of a building 9 floors high). Sometimes it takes longer, if I don't see a fix in 20 minutes I restart the phone. IDLE: Using the current development image the battery lasts for the whole day, unless using Waydroid for too long. I haven't seen the background apps draining battery so far. NFC I use it with Waydroid in the transport system of my city, no issues. Calls: No issues, 5G or Volte are working. SMS/MMS: SMS fine, I don't use MMS. Waydroid: Very fluid, but it hangs often when put in the background. Not a big deal because it starts in seconds. Connection to PC: No issues to mount the device in Linux, or connect with adb. Wifi/network: Disconnects if moving between WIFI antenna, but otherwise no issues.

Subject: Question: Porting Python SDL Game to Ubuntu Touch Message: Hello from France , I'm the developer of Night Invasion, a real-time multiplayer game fully written in Python. It uses Pygame (SDL under the hood) and standard libraries for networking and audio. I would like to know if it is technically feasible to port this game to Ubuntu Touch, given that: It is 100% Python (Python 3.12), It relies on pygame, pygame.mixer, and SDL for rendering/audio, It does not use any C/C++ extensions beyond SDL dependencies. Are there any compatibility issues or restrictions I should be aware of on Ubuntu Touch regarding SDL/Pygame or Python-based applications? Thank you in advance and best wishes to the community! PS it's a closed sources game because my team dont want open source Best regards, Yann Escarbassière

@OtaDr Thank you for sharing the link, however, I do not watch youtube. I appreciate your effort in trying to help me. It simply looks like UT is not an OS designed for my needs.

@Benoit-NL This seems like the Mailo-mail-web bookmark from Open Store. It has not been updated since 2022, which is a very long time in web developement. I would consider this app abandoned, and try to find another solution. I don't have a Mailo-account, but I would try things in this order: Dekko, e-mail app from the Open Store where you can register you e-mail accounts and send and receive mails. A bit similar to how Thunderbird works, if you have tried that in the past. You would probably need to use IMAP to configure the e-mail client. Download Mimi and uWolf. Log into your Mailo account and test these two browsers. If they don't work, learn how to install "clicks" and get the uFirefox browser in stead. Lastly, install Waydroid (a program that emulates an Android phone) and check your mail through a modern browser there, or the Mailo app if they have one that works on non Google phones.

@developerbayman Making a little script and make it autorun on startup could be a workaround to avoid doing the mount --bind command every time I reboot the phone but I don't know how to do this. Still, for each file that I want to copy into the shared folder I have to do the chown command again and again, that's the most problematic thing

@hamidreza2000m Welcome to the community! If you get time, feel free to post what you learned here. It could help many others in your position who are considering trying Ubuntu Touch. A small note from my experience.. while many banking apps don't work even in Waydroid (I think because of unlocked boatloader?) some banks work fine via their website. I often send/receive transfers, check balance, etc. through my bank's website using Morph, the main web browser of UT. Hope that you're able to make the switch!

@Alain regarding installing: You need to unlock the bootloader, there are plenty of how to's for that. For that you will need a PC where the little tool fastboot is installed. Then you might need to downgrade the device to the appropriate Android version. Usually the ubports installer gives short instructions where to download the right firmware. After you unlocked the bootloader and the device is running the right Android version, you just use the ubports installer to flash Ubuntu Touch onto the device. Thats it.

I also think RCS is one the next "big things" after VoLTE, but in my opinion the only variant that makes sense is 1. (modify existing messaging-app to be capable of RCS).
