    • RE: Install Ubuntu Touch on LG Nexus 5 with Android 4

@ezze hi, 6.0.1 is the latest official factory image version, and yes, it's recommended to update that device before installing UT so you'll have the latest firmware for it.

You can download it from https://developers.google.com/android/images#hammerhead

The flashing instructions are at the top of that page.

@mooncosmique another way to do it is following these instructions http://docs.ubports.com/en/latest/userguide/advanceduse/ssh.html

Can these words 6.0.1 still be seen somewhere with a command ?

      @domubpkm I don't think so

    • RE: In realme 3

@xinorixic no, you can find the current supported devices list at https://devices.ubuntu-touch.io/

You can try to port UT yourself if that model has the minimum requirements (http://docs.halium.org/en/latest/porting/first-steps.html).

@domubpkm yes, it's normal. That's the current 'user agent' main identification.

@emailforfor just for the record, BQ was acquired by a Vietnamese company (Vingroup) at the end of last year. Probably that's a big reason why they don't care about old products anymore.

This was the official PR note: https://www.bq.com/en/pr-vingroup

@flaun-in hi, I've moved this topic to Support too 🙂

Edit: I don't have an account there to test it but just to have more info: which UT channel are you running in your device? Morph is under heavy development and some of its features haven't reach 'stable' yet

@flaun-in hi, I've moved this topic to Support to see if other people can give you any ideas.

@costales told us in the Spanish group that he's pretty busy but as you've filed an issue already (https://bugs.launchpad.net/unav/+bug/1845934) probably he'll take a look when he finds some spare time.

Will the Ubuntu touch evolutions soon make it possible to correct NEXUS 5 video playback problems?

@domubpkm I can't answer your question (sorry!) but to get the gist of that old issue, please see this https://github.com/ubports/ubuntu-touch/issues/7#issuecomment-352201205

    • RE: Loquiim

@redi Whatsup support was removed in version 0.6.0 but that only affects that service, LoquiIM should work (current version is 0.6.6). You can see this in the changelog (https://open-store.io/app/loquiim.nfsprodriver) and if you have any issue with LoquiIM you can file a report at https://gitlab.com/nfsprodriver/im/issues

Check out it isn't reported already though.

On the other hand, have you tried https://open-store.io/app/eu.movim.ut.movim and/or https://open-store.io/app/im.kaidan.kaidan?

@Nathan123 hi, I've moved this thread to OT.

About your question, my personal stance is 'don't trust anyone'. What I do is to use a mix of email services, depending on different needs but if you want a suggestion, take a look to https://runbox.com/

    • RE: Survey Tool

@yuvarajvel hi, I understand your point of view and what you have in mind but to give some perspective to your proposal you should know about the current porting limitations, being the main points:

      • Not all kind of models can be ported. For detailed info please see http://docs.halium.org/en/latest/porting/first-steps.html#pick-an-android-target-device
      • It doesn't matter how many people would like device X running UT if the people with the technical skills to make it possible can't get their hands on that X model.

Finally, and this is just my opinion, developing a database and a native app with this goal in mind, it sounds to me like a lot of work for a little result.

    • RE: Most stable phone for Ubuntu Touch??

@Giiba I don't have that kind of experience with my Nexus 5. The only app that gives me sometimes troubles is the dialer.

On the other hand, I have the feeling that making a clean 16.04 install makes the things better than upgrading the device from 15.04 (YMMV).

@toschio which android-tools version are you using? Some people reported issues with some versions in Arch. See for example https://bugs.archlinux.org/task/63370
