Just got back to my bricked tab problem and re-visited your post. You mention the possible need to split the case. Here's some information I found you may be interested in: The tablet uses a Snapdragon processor by Qualcomm. If you need to trigger EDL mode, you don't need to open the case. There's an easier way. Buy an EDL Deep Flash Cable, which has a button to trigger EDL mode. They are available on ebay quite cheaply. Best regards.

Thanks for your reply. I've tried putting empty .nomedia file in root of sd card and confirm it works.
However, at first imported stuff was still in Gallery, so used UT Tweak Tool to clear.
Then gallery only contained stuff recorded prior to inserting sd card!
Btw, agree the need for triple backups of important family photos etc.

Mission accomplished! Card is now installed and working in Lenovo TB-X605F. Thanks for your help.
I had some mechanical problems. Was difficult to see what I was doing.
At one point I realised the card slot was empty. I remembered having a problem with a Raspberry Pi when the micro sd card pinged out on the floor. So I searched on the floor with a torch and sure enough there was the missing card. I seated it in the card carrier, inserted it in the Lenovo tablet and was greatly relieved to find that all my files were accessible.

So, I checked for updates and it reported software up to date. On investigation I discovered it was on release candidate channel, so I switched to devel channel and it downloaded 532mb of updates.
I installed the updates and after a couple of trys, I managed to coax it to boot.
Deep joy, it booted into staged mode! So pleased with the result. I am typing this on my Lenovo tab.

I am happy to confirm that today I got a fix with uNav!
This was outdoors and took about 15mins.
I carefully followed the advice given in your previous posts, so many thanks for all your contributions.

You should ask @Luksus for help as he is the maintener if this port, and GPS is said working on this device in ubports device list.

Just restarted Teleports on my UT devices and UBports Overflow has auto-magically re-appeared!
I didn't need to do anything.

@keneda I've only tried network transfer from PC to UT.
I've used wifitransfer and bluetooth transfer to send files to my PC (but not from Pinephone).
Pinephone sends music to bluetooth speaker OK.

@kugiigi I'm on a roll now. Sending this from my Pinephone on release candidate! 🙂

@flohack Hi Flo, thanks for your input.
I think Morph has improved in OTA 15 and that makes many websites a lot smoother.
BTW, my wife is a typical consumer, not a computer nerd. I'm sure she'd be quite happy with an ipad.

@dtarrant Think it should work in normal mode to, but when it went odd just put it straight into desktop mode to test. Will try that later on today

@dtarrant @kugiigi @dobey M10 problem solved! The trouble was the 'Lock when idle' setting was 5 minutes and not 3 minutes as on my N4. Took me a long while to find the config utility:
Battery Indicator / Lock when idle / After 3 minutes
Easy when you know how 🙂
