Disable app suspension for the terminal app on the tweak tool if you want.
Also, if you plan to create apps, you can try Seabass. It's a great code editor and supports creating a libertine container for building via clickable.
@totalsonic
Yeah I know about those devices. I've search the YouTube as well. I almost went for the Samsung Galaxy Tab A 10 but then when I checkout linked XDA thread I noticed bluetooth isn't working at all. I almost bought a port without working bluetooth.
Speaking of Lenovo tablet it looks by far the snappiest UT tablet
on the market. The presenter used the same bluetooth keyboard I have to connect so I could see it works. I'm buying
Thank you @TotalSonic !
@xekuta747 I think it depends of the website. I personally made a webapp with this URL:
https://map.schweizmobil.ch (only for Switzerland terrain)
In Webber I did allow GPS location and it works perfectly well.
I use it to find the trails in high mountains hikes (very useful above 10'000 feet high where walk tracks are not very visible;-)
@trwidick
I can confirm that this asset error isn't showing up every time.
I'm now clearing the cache to see if it's really a cached error.
Will report back.
@keneda said in Need feedback from women (if any) using UT:
Well, maybe his app's relative to some things that only woman has to manage every month...
OTA release download ?
@dobey said in Android apps converter. Crazy talk ?:
Good news! Android is still Linux. So your heart shouldn't have to suffer too much.
@marek_python That's where leads the "Linux" instead of "GNU/Linux" thing lol
@dobey Acknowledged. @dobey would you mind copy-pasting the suggestion onto relevant GitHub repo if I delete it from the dialer-app's list of issues ? I don't have GitHub account. I'm GitLab user and don't wanna be creating account just to post a suggestion.
@marek_python use Terminal from within running UBUNTU TOUCH operating system, yes, it works that way. No TWRP is needed. ( only for a full backup if wanted , you can always reflash UT recovery afterwards )
@marek_python said in Unlock the bootloader forcibly:
(...) I followed the tuts on XDA site all UT community is aware of. However, I can't pass the point where I'm supposed to type "su" into terminal emulator. It just spits out "Connection to ui timed out" meaning it won't let me execute the commands where I need elevated privileges. And for overwriting the proinfo file I do need to be root in the session. So far I haven't found a way to go around it.
I had the same problem, Terminal just hangs. So I simply use
adb shell
su
and a then following with the procedure (using simply cp instead of dd)
Morph-browser has everything to become an excellent browser. There has already been a lot of very good work done on it by Chris Clime alias Balcy. I recognize this even if many bugs are still very disturbing for me (and others i suppose) for a daily use. I don't think it's worth going elsewhere, but rather to focus on it so that it matures as quickly as possible. Developers who are available and have the skills should rather help Chris because morph is (surely) a big piece for a person almost alone in this task. Congratulations to him.
@marek_python Hi, there isn't an official or supported way (by UBports) to do it but a third party developed a non-free solution https://f-call-dev.blogspot.com/
I have so much respect for the core devs. I can see how much work they have done on the camera on Nexus. It is quite obvious that some of the manpower / brainpower is allocated on improving camera capabilities of the promoted devices.
One of the things I appreciate the most about UT mobile OS is that it comes with CLI which enables me to connect to my Raspberry Pi wirelessly and control it. Not 100% sure if iPhones or Androids have an app for this but on UT it comes by default.
@htc_tattoo
I´d like to add that it might not only be the fear of the unknown or the disability to new ideas (even though it may be true for a vast number of cases). I assume rather more than less would switch soon once they are presented a running system that fits their needs. But that “label” is likely to be seen differently by different people. And sure on top of that you get the habitat issues and what people are used to, I agree, that´s tough educational work....
My case does sure not reflect the majority but I think that quite some of those GUI dependent UT-aspirants out there are just hoping to have their core functionalities implemented in UT soon. Maybe we´re just a bit hesitant with the system as it is because not everybody is keen on learning how to script and dive into linux (Division of work has some good reasons :-))
But that does not denounce the "nerd" - instead the "UT-nerd" should take pride in the fact that he or she is working us all out of that dependency of the kraken. And that is a very important thing to do.
Hats off to everybody who contributes to Ubuntu Touch!
About the screen problem:
I had the same problem, when I was on the train and charging the N5 on the wall socket.
I think the problem was me charging on the Butt-Pants-Seat interface as well. As soon as I touched the protected earth wire of the socket (grounding myself) everything worked fine.
Later I realized that the shielding of the cable was broken. I replaced it and hence forth I didn't have problems any more.
