@ikoz Many thanks for the work. I have them both on Xenial at the moment. I don't have the skillset to further these devices unfortunately.
As for the IMEI disappearing, I assumed (never assume) that something like that was the case, so no panic.
I don't know why my installs didn't quite go to plan, but figuring it out and then seeing UT running made it worthwhile.

I am a big fan of the OP devices, quality hardware and a pretty straightforward install the vast majority of the time and I would personally award them a medal for making the bootloader not a chore to unlock!

@arubislander I thought it had the latest (last) version of Android on it, plus I was pretty certain I had the bootloader unlocked (all of the S7 G930F should have an unlocked bootloader). The boot to recovery when thinking about it (it was late) should have pointed me to the wrong Android version. Installed /e/OS version 1 (android 10) meaning unlocked bootloader and then installed UT.

@rubencarneiro Thank you. I had changed my USB ports, USB cables, PC and so on and was stumped why this issue was occurring.

What I did see with the installer it went really, really quickly from fastboot to fastbootd and did the partition resize so quickly I just saw a flash on the screen. When I do it the manual way, it is quick but visible.

It's a really snappy and beautiful OS. Installed easily with the installer.

Browsers are a problem, as I've delineated a bit on another post in Support.

It would not update from r128 - I would click install and it would reboot to the recovery, but no update just a reboot option.

I had to wipe to factory, then it would update - now finally on r133. Fortunately I'd only installed a few apps and some minor configuration (dark mode, pinned apps, etc - nothing major.

Gonna give it a drive and see if the browsers, etc are better now.

Big thanks to the team, this is how a tablet OS should work.

EDIT: browser font is still weird - same in Jade Browser which I tried hoping it would work better but is probably based on the same source.

Hosed pendrive recovered, many thanks to PartedMagic. Then struggled to get YUMI Multiboot to install distros. Oh, yeah Windows 11, thanks for your "Folder Protection". Whitelisted YUMI, Ubuntu versions on pendrive, successful Ubuntu 23.10 install on ancient celeron machine, all data recovered, back up and running....😁

@Rondarius Tried it on my USB 3 only windows machine and a USB 2 Ubuntu machine and it still failed.

@stanwood It's not me, its @rubencarneiro . He told me in a PM the other day he was putting them forward for the installer and here they are! My interest was the Lenovo Tab. I am working on the coding bit, time is against me at the moment with other things in life!

Tablets won't boot after update without a lot of switching off and on again.

Edit:

I might be getting some where to get a reboot to get off the Lenovo screen.

Power off the device and leave it for a few minutes.

Hold the volume up button and power on - release the power button when the Lenovo splash screen appears - not before and count to about 5 and release the volume up.

So far this has worked more often than not.

@Luksus Well that was painless apart from me forgetting I was on my Win11 machine and have to put ./ in front of the fastboot command..

Kept all my data too - bonus!
