Hey folks!
It's been a while since I tried UT for the first time and I was very impressed about how easy and flawless the installation went now with the UBPorts installer.
My old Volla-Phone starts nicely and after one nasty crash it appears to work rather stable now.
Great, thanks to all involved!!!
However, I am wondering, since my last attempt with UT like 4 or 5 years ago there seem to be only little changes regarding 2 things I'd consider absolutely essential:
Browser
Although Morph is basically working and even reaching a very good html5 rating (something which appeared to be a problem in the past) it seems there is no way to save passwords? While it may be reasoned by security concerns this seems a bit odd on modern systems. Or is there something to fill this gap?
E-Mail Client
The only really suitable client appears to be "Dekko 2" but it almost didn't get any updates in the last years it seems and is having a looong list of issues yet, including some strange hangings always on my device.
Don't get me wrong here, I am still very thankful for all the work the author put in there and don't want to criticize, because I know how much work this means for basically no rewards - but I wonder, why is there no "Core" E-Mail client in UT with appropriate support?
I absolutely don't get that, ain't that important for the average UT user? a webbased app seems to be no valid alternative to me.
So, whats the usual approach here, am I missing something? Are people just using waydroid installing some android counterpart?
