@ktatar156 I seem to remember reading on here somewhere that there is a now a problem adding gmail accounts to dekko2 due to security/authentication changes on the Google side of the fence. There might be a workaround, you will have to do a search for the details I'm afraid. @rogier-oudshoorn : I don't need that Dekko2 checks my email every x minutes. I just need a mail client able to check "on demand" a few e-mail accounts in a safe way. It seems to me that this is what Dekko1 did. Dekko2 should have an option to run without all privileges ! This is the only thing that prevent me from switching definitively from Ubuntu Touch Canonical OTA-15 version (on my daily driver BQ E5) to Ubports OTA-24 (used only for testing on my second BQ E5). @raybiko Well, yes. This is a phone. The idea is to throttle as much as possible when the device is sleeping. Hence the repeated advice not to reason about your phone in the same way you reason about a raspberry pi, for instance. However, if battery life is not a concern for you, you could try disabling app suspension for the Terminal app in the Ubuntu Tweak Tool, available in the Open Store.

@stropbu Just quit tested on my N5 and i can confirm i have issues with its camera. No all quite the same as you but there are. I have the rear camera working (preview and photos taken), but once, after manual focusing on a very bright part of my tv screen, app control just vanished. On front camera, preview is reverted, but photo that outputs is in right orientation (edit : just tested on my MX4, same behavior on front camera, maybe it's intended ?) Also i have what you describes, manual focusing with front camera just make buttons not working for some loooong seconds after focusing finished (capture button color stays gray instead of white during that time). Did not tested in OTA-23 and previous as it is my spare phone.

@noelflantier The discussion is old, and the problem not solved. Thank you for your great LightP Word Processor and we are very happy about it. We will test on our Pinephone with Ubports. We suffer since longer time that there is no office software which has a community on Linux phones which is happy about it. User reported that everything works with Libre Office on the Pinephone, but it is terribly laggish. Softmaker has their special application for Android. Maybe it works in an Anbox. But is Anbox not just Android on a Ubports, with the same disadvantages Android has? Someone reported to use AbiWord and Gnumeric instead of LibreOffice on the Pinephone.

@gandalf Best action for now is to log a feature request in the repo I think QR reading also needa to imrpove in UT. Apps that has it don't read QR codes that well. There's a built in QR code reader in focal though so maybe it'll improve. Apps can also maybe use it to scan codes instead of implementing within the app.

@lx_crawl No option to have desktop files or icons in the desktoo yet. That's not implemented yet. You can explore the command setprop. For example this command sets the interactive blur in Lomiri to false: setprop ubuntu.unity8.interactive_blur false

@mindpear You can clear (installed) applications caches (and eventually datas and configs) using Ubuntu Touch Tweak Tool. To be done before uninstalling any app.

Note that Imdb recently redesigned their site so it's possible it's that too. Webview in UT is just generally not performing well.

@planner Any reason why, may I ask? It is pretty straightforward using the fastboot command. You need to download a stock ROM and TWRP for OP5T. You need to have ADB and Fastboot drivers installed (I install Android Studio as it has the latest drivers) Power of the phone and wait a couple of minutes. Boot into the bootloader by pressing Volume down and the power button together (when it powers on release the power button) Attach the phone to a PC with a USB cable Open up a command prompt in the fastboot folder (if using Android studio it is the Platform Tools folder) Flash TWRP using the command ./fastboot flash recovery <location of the TWRP image> Once in TWRP go to Wipe and Wipe Data, type in yes Go back to Wipe and choose advanced and tick the Cache and system and slide the button to wipe them In the PC file explorer locate the phone and copy the OP5T stock ROM to the root of the device storage (i.e. NOT in a folder) In TWRP choose install and navigate to the ROM file you copied and install it. If it fails there are other ways to go back to stock... Google is your friend use the XDA-developers forum or the oneplus forums as they have other methods.

Swipe down from the location detection in the top bar (shaped like a location pin). Note that even if location detection is on, it will only be active when there is an app active that is allowed to use it.

@arubislander Just to clarify: I don't run any server. I have no network at home apart from the link between my router and my PC and UT phone. The server I was referring to belongs to the commercial email service provider and may be located in another country. I am not absolutely sure that the issue does not appear on my PC. It just happens that I have noticed it on my UT phone. But I think it does not happen on my PC. I am using µAdBlock. But is this a problem?
