@domubpkm said in How safe is UT from trackers?: @mateo_salta Why did you remove demo browser from the Open Store? Improving it would have been nice but it still has some use as it is for testing. Demo browser is back in the Open Store today. Thanks @mateo_salta .

@povoq said in Unconfined apps: you can install apps through the UTtweak tool, unconfined or not. @cibersheep said in Unconfined apps: Yes. Through UTTT or OpenStore App I was not sure you could do that also with unconfined apps. @povoq said in Unconfined apps: and I honestly would find it terrible if that would be further restricted. Maybe yes, but at least it could be there some warning telling the app that is going to be installed by this way is unrestricetd/unconfined, thus could lead to some security issue.

@unrealb2 : I think @AppLee is right. Being able to view web/video better and having a large keyboard are plus points of huge phones. Of course, downside to them is they're less easy to carry. In that respect smaller phones are better. Which type you prefer is all a matter of priority. Unfortunately, choice in the latter category is limited. A few more phones would be nice.

@domubpkm I don't know what's the device of OP. Edit : as far as i can see from his previous posts, he owns a FP2, but still, don't know if it's a Halium 9 port he runs on. Edit 2 : most advanced port for FP2 is 7.1 https://forums.ubports.com/topic/6021/halium-7-1-test-channel/17

@prog-amateur @Moem is right this is not something possible at the moment. That's a big issue and many people expect this feature sooner than later. Be sure that when this is possible you'll hear drums and trumpet :beaming_face_with_smiling_eyes:

@dobey said in Android apps converter. Crazy talk ?: Good news! Android is still Linux. So your heart shouldn't have to suffer too much. @marek_python That's where leads the "Linux" instead of "GNU/Linux" thing lol

@l-00548 Glad it was useful as that was what I hoped might help others with the same interest in getting a cheap means of trying UBports UT. I am still extremely pleased with this OS and I am now looking at apps that do the same as the ones I use on my Android phone. I am also re-assessing the apps I have on my Android phone and if I actually need to have them. I know that GPS works on my Nexus 5 but even after to trying uNav and Pure Maps several times, it is still takes several minutes to get "locked on". Occassionally some things seem a bit laggy and then when doing other things the phone seems very smooth and slick. It may be that this what you get from 8 year old hardware even with a lightweight OS. So I continue to look for and try apps for my day to day use. I am currently looking for a new password manager as the Bitwarden app, which I already use on my laptop and Android phone, doesn't seem properly to work in the UT app or web app.

@applee Oh yes you're right. Now I see what it is... Thank you. So I confirm there's no kind of such a Led working on Redmi Note 7, UT OTA-16 Stable. Btw, there's no charge indicator on this device yet. Nothing's shown on the display when USB-C cable is plugged in, but battery does charge correctly anyway.
