@abhi please don't ask the same question in different categories. Short answer, no. Supported devices are found on the UBports devices page.

@MrT10001 Yes, I run Ubuntu 23.04, but because on Ubuntu Desktop HexChat has flickering display, I installed xfce with "sudo apt -y install task-xfce-desktop" I installed Ubuntu Touch 16.04/dev to OP3T today using installer: https://forums.ubports.com/topic/8937/installed-16-04-dev-to-op3t-today-with-these-steps

To Hallo Welt Systeme's credit, Volla X23 with Halium 12. So they seem to be the pioneers for this.

@Mark-Muth - Libertine in Focal is working well for me on my Volla Phone now, it just took multiple tries for me to get it installed (I ended up having to use the Terminal instead of the Systems Setting gui to get it done). Best regards, Steve Berson list item

@developerbayman I hear you. I tried to register with four different clients, including the Ubuntu Snap and the Telegram webapp. All claimed to be sending a code to my 'other devices' or by SMS. Only way I actually got anywhere was to install the official Android SDK APK (from the Telegram website) to an actual Android device. (Going through the Google Play Store would probably have worked, but I would draw the line before that!) After registering with the official Android app, all the other clients authenticate no problems.

@stropbu said in CHUWI Vi8 Ubuntu Touch?: Has anyone installed it? No, because that's not a supported device. There is nothing to install.

@delphi_coder To add to what @TotalSonic has already mentioned Some phone manufacturers do provide the sources for their modifies kernels (all should, legally, but only some do unfortunately), but the drivers are proprietary binary blobs without available source code. These drivers are written to work with specific versions of the kernel. They could possibly work with a newer kernel if they were recompiled against itm, but alas, that cannot be done, since the there is no available source code for the drivers. Something being Ubuntu is not defined by the package manager or the Desktop Environment. Ubuntu Core exists, which does not use apt, and the dozens of flavors, each focussing on a different DE, and some even without any, also show that the DE does not define a distro being Ubuntu or not either. Ubuntu Touch uses the Ubuntu repos for its base packages, and Canonical has granted the project permission to use the name Ubuntu in the name for the OS.

Another update: Qtractor can be installed via Libertine (with libqtcore4 as prerequisite) and functions. Trouble is that Jack doesn't work and so actually recording on Qtractor hasn't happened for me yet. I think a real-time plugin is needed. I'm hoping someone who knows more than me will weigh in, but would this be useful to us?: https://ubuntu.com/engage/an-introduction-to-real-time-linux-part-i Or does anyone know how to get Jack working with interface? I will mess around with ALSA and see if I can get some MIDI stuff done. Balrong
