@sven I will share you my experience. On Jan, I have tried to mess around like what you have said with my device Google Pixel 3a XL by trying other OS (Droidian) which was available as a second option after UT. I've installed it with success and ease. Honestly it is quite interesting, but still lags and lack of features. The idea is good comparing to real desktop version. I have decided to go back to UT 20.04 OTA-7, by flashing the device to Stock Android 9 and then commencing installing UT via UT Installer. All steps were correct, only when reached Recovery Mode and waiting for files to be installed, it got stuck for ever there, just waiting and scanning devices. I have tried three times with no luck to install UT back to my device. I have tried four times Android 9 and Droidian with success and no issues. This is my experience with messing around with UT. Am waiting to see 24.04 to be released to install it back again to my device.

@Tobias-Schimpf I've been running focal on my Volla Phone X for some time and have just updated to OTA3. It runs OK but the battery life is reduced on Focal, on Xenial I could just about go three days between charging, now I have to charge every day (mostly twice a day). You could get it by changing your channel in settings but the advice appears to be to do a conplete reinstall (with wipe user data) from the installer. I just noted down all the contacts and re-entered them after the install. I also backed up my data and copied my photos across.

Yes, had the same problem this morning after the update on my VollaPhone. I reflashed it from the UT installer (not ticking the wipe option) choosing the RC channel and it rebooted fine!

@domubpkm Right now I'm using the development channel, build 876. I updated to it some weeks ago to test the changes in the contacts app and haven't updated yet.

Hi, having the same problem on my device since OTA 23, I would like to share the following observation: My screen freezes like after every two-three ticks. I have to lock the scree and unlock it and then it will work again for some more ticks before freezing again. So I started uninstalling kind of nearly all the apps (I have the green light to send it to Volla). After uninstalling nearly everything, my Volla worked better. But it did not last for long, because I needed to reinstall some apps for daily use (I use it as my only phone). Now, I see two options: Total reset by Volla or wait for OTA 24. Any other ideas?

There's an interesting discussion on the Volla's github about deliberately disabled kernel crypto interface in Volla kernel. I don't quite understand the reason why theese people advertize their commercial product as a (not literally) privacy and security enhanced and then turning off the crypto support in their custom built kernel. Did I miss something? Please feel free to join the discussion and/or share this information on other social platforms to get more audience involved.
