@magdesign It's probably possible to reactivate the FirefoxOS touch UI in desktop Firefox, but someone would need to get a version of Firefox working without Libertine (To have GPU support etc.). @Giiba Yeah it seems so I guess it's a problem with Morph.Web since Demo Browser doesn't use it and uses the vanilla QtWebEngine.

@Stefano I agree: fragmentation of the marketplace ought to be good for UT: an imperative being that we need to get it on hardware at point of sale. (I have been half expecting an announcement from Micro$oft too, suggesting they might have another go.)

Seems not very different from the goals of postmarketOS. But without working drivers for all the hardware, it's going to be quite a pain.

@Flohack Not by fastboot, by the method mentioned in the first post, there is link to that post. But, I also flashed modem couple of times with flashable zip that contained a new/different modem firmware and by checking the modem version after that, it was changed. So, yeah, different ways of doing it.

@stefano yes it is definitely annoying. I'll keep an eye on it and this thread in case I see something similar to your bug and I will report to you. Honestly, I'm not using the Pro5 that hard to be a 100% sure my device isn't affected.

@mardy No, I would say that is a misunderstanding of the situation. If you uninstall LibreOffice, should Ubuntu delete all the documents created with it from your hard drive? If you remove VSCode, should all the code you wrote also be deleted? Of course not. The only way it would be acceptable to delete such data when uninstalling, is if the user could be made fully and cogently aware of exactly what data may be deleted, and give them an option to preserve said data without forcing them to keep the app as well. Only after some large improvements to how we handle data and config storage, should this be considered, I think.

@stefano No worries, we cannot just focus on the Librem, we want to be as broad as possible, as our users might not be happy if just locked into one hardware. There are many porters doing Halium ports right now, see https://github.com/Halium/projectmanagement/issues and WOW there are many good starting points for new devices already. Hopefully some of them will be great UT devices one day!
