@wgarcia Hi ! Sorry, I'm not sure to understand what you mean. This aGPS function (Xtra download) only download ephemeral, like tell Vlad. So it is a pure GPS function and it don't use WiFi or Bluetooth or scanning near cell tower. For the test please disable all GPS improvement system : So in Android settings : Improve Location Accuracy = off and Wi-Fi scanning and Bluetooth scanning = off and not in High Accuracy mode. So you need to put you Android in Device only GPS to be sure to disable all other functions. It just download a satellite map at this moment. And we just need Internet data (mobile data or Wi-Fi) just one time a day. You can download the data in your home and use GPS after. We use SatStat to download aGPS (the first option in the menu). So you can do the experiment as you share at the top of the topic, or like this : I prefer this way, because we are sure that it don't use other function that ask an external server to give the location. Open Waydroid Disable GPS in Waydroid Start SatStat Download aGPS in SatStat (the first item (Recharger les données AGPS in French) like in the Vlad picture) Wait 30 seconds and after Turn off Wi-Fi and Mobile data Close SatStat Go outside Enable GPS in Android Start SatStat and look, verify that it found GPS (at the bottom) and look at the TTFF : Time To First Fix. It should be quicker than 1 minute. Is it possible for you to test it ? Thanks a lot

@mirroronthewall Yes, this is surprisingly useful, as it means you don't always have to whip out a hardware keyboard, which defeats the point of the small form factor of a phone. Missing support for modifier keys is a big issue when using GUI apps in Libertine, as touch-to-mouse conversion often doesn't behave as it should and can get you 'stuck', so a fallback to keyboard shortcuts is just as necessary there as it may be useful in general: actually, your idea of creating macros for anything seems to solve many problems (including mine) at once, so congrats - now we just need to figure out how! The closest I've found is Ambot Installer: Hacks and Mods, although I need to set up a persistent amd64 QEMU instance on my arm64 laptop before I can allow myself to experiment with it freely (it's the only way I got the installer working). Other tools may be available but I have not been able to surface them yet, I will update this thread as I learn more about the issue and potential solutions. [UPDATE] Here is a list of interesting posts related to this problem, which may be a good starting point for building a bridge towards the solution: These are previous conversations on the repos which appear to have been abbandoned: https://github.com/ubports/keyboard-component/issues/96 gitlab.com/ubports/apps/terminal-app/-/issues/78 https://gitlab.com/ubports/development/core/lomiri-keyboard/-/issues/96 Instead, here are some useful links related to Malakiboard, which should be a good foundation to build macro functionality on: https://github.com/kugiigi/jerk-click https://github.com/kugiigi/jerk-installer https://github.com/kugiigi/jerk-packages

@Voorstad maybe. If MeshCore had a Rust library, it would be fairly easy (famous last words) to integrate into the app I am making for Meshtastic. But it appears there's only a C++ library, and I'm not touching that with a 100 foot pole. As for MeshCore vs Meshtastic, I'm aware there seems to be some back and forth about it on the LoRa bands in the Netherlands (where I am currently based...). But for now, the app will only be supporting Meshtastic, unfortunately!

Hello, I am currently running Ubuntu Unity 24.04 with Unity 7.7 desktop. I was wondering if it is possible to install Lomiri alongside to play around with it and switch between Unity 7.7 and Lomiri from the LightDM. I tried running Lomiri on Debian 13 but it did not work with multi-monitor in my case and so I cannot change to Lomiri as a primary desktop until this is repaired (as I see from the website, this is "under construction", per se). I love Unity and love to see the future of how this desktop develops as Lomiri formerly Unity 8. Thank you!!

@uxes That is a great program, but I heard that ATL relies on GTK. Which is not integrated into UT. And besides, list of supported apps is limited compared to Waydroid.

@wally said in Tip: call a contact with one hand (secret UT key !): @lduboeuf Aha! I've gotten somewhere. In short, it relates to what language my system is set to. I was suspecting some sort of regional dialing syntax issue. I tried changing my location in System Settings, to no effect. Then I tried changing my language to Français (France), and sure enough, up comes the cidrerie after dialing +33029, or also after dialing 029. Attempting to dial Canadian numbers while set to Français (France) didn't yield any predictions regardless of syntax. It only then occurred to me that my language is normally set to English (UK), not English (Canada). Setting it to English (Canada), I CAN get certain contacts to be predicted, but only if I start by dialing +1, and only then for contacts that happen to have the number saved starting with +1. My Contacts seem to have a wide variety of snytaxes, some starting in +1, others simply with 1, others without the regional code at all. Also some using parentheses, some not. Perhaps this relates to a Contact list that has been exported from one device to another and from 16.04 to 20.04, with different contacts being added at different times. The contact list has always been within UT. I have never dialed a plus sign, living here. Using Google Maps, if I set my VPN to Canada, I see (555) 555-5555, where if set to, for example, France and searching a Canadian business I see +1 555-555-5555. So in short, even with my language set to Canadian English, I wouldn't have stumbled across any predictions based on phone numbers. It only works for numbers stored with a +, and only if I type the + when dialing. If it weren't too complicated a change, perhaps if the numeric prediction search dropped all special characters like + and (, it would work more internationally? But I have no idea how feasible this is. The predictions based on contact name are probably useful to a lot more people anyway, and I don't want to create more work for you. Just trying to be helpful in the small ways that I can by testing and reporting. Thanks for the feedback, will look at it one day. But i'm surprised prefixes change with language and not timezone
