@bearbobs sorry for the late reply its been busy with work...did you have to host the emulationstation?....because not sure how to host from within a clickable.....Iv seen the project before but have not really done anything with it....if it runs totally client side its do able....but if it needs hosting I don't think it can be done....the nes I'm working on is a heavily modded JavaScript emulator runs totally client side i added touch support fixed up the audio and added a lot of mapper support.....one big issue is the webview out of the box is....well lacking...if you load mario you will see black squares around the clouds and other sprites...not the emulator but the webview....

@arubislander Yes. I don't know why. Maybe the ~ symbol is not allowed with sudo and one has to use $HOME, or I made some other mistake. Anyway your command line works, I learned something useful, even if my basic problem is not solved: I restored the original file.

@metty I haven't gotten that far, and I'm not yet able to use my passwords with Unix Pass on my Ubuntu Touch device, which currently forces me to always have two phones with me. Is there something I am doing wrong? I was able to initialize the program with pass, but I can't generate and save passwords. Its generating one but the list remains empty. Among many 'libtls-padding.so' errors. @stanwood You write: It is strongly not recommended to use apt to install software. (as it won't work and may brick your device) But back to the main topic. How do I do it? Even if it may brick my device. Better than no device. That would be the case if a such a simple thing like pass do not work on a ubuntu-phone.

@cjengle Maybe something went wrong with your manipulations. Don't know where... Best thing is to reinstall UT without wipe your data. Then start again to remove Anbox as I described above.

Your expectations are not matching the reality I am afraid... I think you are better off with one of the following options : Replace the screen yourself and keep the repaircosts low that way. Look for another OS to run on the phone like for example PostmarketOS/Mobian/etc.

@tmsteph said in Hey ppl I can't get into recovery mode. Only Fastboot.: This is how the phone is showing up in device manager.... [image: 1639719606763-1087a78e-8134-4c6e-bda1-73f76bd09993-image.png] This usually means your EDL Mode Driver isn't the right one and you should install the correct one! Did the version of the Qualcomm Tool you posted did that for you too ??

@lsitongia OK that is some progress, with the PRODATA for Internet APN entry. There are some MMS patches getting made as we speak, they are being targeted for OTA-21. Again, the ofono 28 linked above for a "combined APN" (for "Internet + MMS") isn't quite ready but will further improve things when it gets in: I am currently using it and it works well (I can get MMS on 3G now, couldn't before with separate APN for MMS and Internet), but it will reset APN entries often (so I needed to edit the "defaults" so when they are deleted and reset they are still correct) so there are some bugs / blockers. Defaults come from /usr/share/mobile-broadband-provider-info/serviceproviders.xml

@applee I agree with the things you are saying, except for the first part : Learning to fix your car for example is something totally different than beeing a developer! But now that you mention it : I am actually considering having another go at it somewhere in the future... I tried in the past and horribly failed! :grinning_squinting_face:

Please refer to https://forums.ubports.com/post/57619 I just noticed an update in Open Store. The same update shows in System Settings -> Updates. I updated the app via System Settings and it updated fine and shows in the System Settings history. [image: 1639484439629-screenshot20211214_100300079.resized.png]

@mrt10001 said in Change to new phone: The annoyance with any SONY phone is finding one with an unlocked bootloader, or a bootloader you can unlock. You can buy an "unlocked" phone, but all that means is it is not SIM locked. The SONY screens are really nice, but this annoyance with the bootloader has put me off. I don't get it : Sony phones are THE phones for Jolla Sailfish and if you stick to those models then unlocking the bootloader in order to flash Ubuntu Touch shouldn't be an issue ?!
